CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting in the area of the IHop on South Carson Street.
Details are very sketchy, but initial reports indicate that more than one person has been shot on the 3800 block of Carson Street and a suspect is still in the area.
We have a crew on the way and we'll update this story as information becomes available.
iHop
monitering CC sheriff & fire...
Prayers for all involved.
someone had a machine gun...
IHop? This sounds more like a Waffle House type of thing...
Somebody heeding Hoffa’s call to “Take out those sons of bitches”?
The Wild, Wild West is alive and well..
Rumor that it was boyfriend of waitress...
I have no idea what Carson City is like now, but in the 1970s I lived on Franktown Road, between Carson City and Reno- did my shopping in Carson City and it was a quiet town. I don’t remember any crime to speak of at the time and for sure not serious crime. I guess it only takes one nut to do something like this and it could happen anywhere.
Prayers up for them.
Lots of Mexican gangs now, big meth problem. But this sounds like a relationship gone bad... real bad.
Nope.
If that were the case a dozen patrons would have turned the perp into swiss cheese after his first shot.
Don't insult the folks who tamed the West!
My bad, early reporting. Now they are saying it was a semi-auto sheesh. Witness didn’t know the difference. Perp is down, so maybe a CCW holder was having breakfast?
Probably true, but, you know that the slimes are going to look for TEA Party affiliation.
Yeah:(
10:15 a.m. update: Ralph Swagler, owner of Locals Barbecue in the same strip mall as the IHOP, said he saw a man wearing a red shirt and black shorts pull up outside the IHOP in a blue minivan.
Swagler said the man had a rifle. He shot and killed a man on a motorcycle, then walked inside the IHOP and started shooting.
Swagler said the man spent several minutes there, then walked back outside into the parking lot and began firing into the Locals Barbecue and an H&R Block in the strip mall.
This happens in third-world countries, not here, Swagler said.
Was Jimmy Hoffa Jr. anywhere near?
10:23 a.m. update: Kurt Althof, public relations manager for Care Flight, said helicopters from all three of their bases Reno, Truckee and Gardnerville, were called to the scene at 9 a.m.
He said that so far, three shooting victims have been transported to Renown Regional Medical Center, at least two of them in critical condition. The victims transported so far are two women and one man.
A fourth victim was transported to Renown by the East Fork Fire Protection District ambulance out of Gardnerville. That victims condition is not known.
