Palin: theres room for more (audio) September 2, 2011 By O.Kay Henderson 4 Comments As former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin walked in the front door of The Machine Shed restaurant in Urbandale, Iowa, this evening, a reporter asked Palin what she thought about the current field of GOP presidential candidates.
Happy with the field of candidates. I always think that theres room for more, though, because spirited debate and more competition will allow an even better discourse and a more rigorous discourse that the public deserves, Palin said.

Understood. But also consider that she already has hadreps/people in all the states now for some time. The formalized ExCom isn’t a requirement and she said her potential campaign would be wholly unconventional.
Just to avoid confusion, I can understand why people think she isn’t running looking at it from a traditional perspective. My rebuttal is that doubters need to do two things. Look at her former campaigns (hers, not McCains) and read Sun Tzu.
Yeah she is past ripe by now and becoming a publicity hound. Every few weeks she hops onto her magic bus and makes a few pronouncements on Facebbok. She is becoming ridiculous
Palin would make a great Interior Secretary. Eco-heads would explode. I think she is maintaining visibly to get a cabinet appointment under Rick Perry.
Or how about Sarah Palin in charge of the EPA? Score!!!!!
she shut her mouth up until she decides
I think that’s called “chumming the water”.
But it would be a nice LABOR day surprise to hear SHE’S IN or annouce the “PP Team”.
I’ve got a check for $20.12 for her when she makes it offical, maybe several of them. Let’ give Chris Mathews, Mike More, Peelosi nightmares.
“It seems the other candidates got on the pot way too early.”
lol... the imagery is hilarious. I agree, the other candidates are all falling asleep on the toilet wondering why Sarah doesn’t wear diapers anymore. She’s potty trained.
If Palin announces on the last day at high noon... she still has my vote.
I don't agree with that. But I do think that the emotional apex that has pulled in supporters is fading. She needs to announce soon or risk having conservatives turn their attentions elsewhere. Not saying that she couldn't regain it back but for every moment she waits she encourages comments like yours.
Are you really saying she cannot exercise her free speech right as she sees fit? You sound like someone who would be more comfortable in a totalitarian environment.
Why should she plan her life around your obvious impatience? As someone has already said we have 14 months to go before the actual election. Much can and will happen before then.
Aren’t you already bored with all those candidates who been officially stumping it this past several months? They have nothing left to say. In a word they’re stale. Perry has already exceeded his “sell by” date simply by virtue of throwing his name at us almost hourly over the past two or three weeks. Screechers never impress me.
Strategy isn't the be all and end all. Emotional and ideological commitment is huge in politics. The longer she waits the more likely it is that this commitment to her by conservatives will transfer to other candidates. People WANT certainty.
You don’t have a problem with her being deceptive to her employer where they make it abundantly clear that the minute she says she’s seriously CONSIDERING a run that her contract will be suspended just like the others? That’s not a good character trait at all.
The legal department of Fox News said that anyone on their payroll who decides to run will be suspended. If she’s being sly and sneaky it’s not a good thing at all and I will think even less of her than I do right now after watching that video of Todd being confronted by an Alaskan resident on being a sellout.
“...for every moment she waits she encourages comments like yours.”
Sticks and stones may break her bones, but comments of any variety won’t hurt her.
Am bettin the lib’s nightmares have nobama in them every night.
Bear in mind that we are in a bubble here on sites like FR. The majority of voters do not follow politics like we do. They have no clue about most of this stuff. We are political junkies. They are Dancing with the Stars addicts. They don’t care until the election is MUCH closer.
We are a mere handful by comparison and in that handful, only a small percentage are losing faith. If they stopped worrying about what pundits say and remembered her own schedule for announcing, that faith may be restored rather quickly because they, not palin, are the ones inventing/building up this “must announce now” crap.
Every soldier in England in WW2 said the same thing about Eisenhower...pre-Normandy.
On You Tube there is an excellent view of Sun Tzu’s THE ART OF WAR produced by the History Channel. Anyone confused by Sarah’s strategy will find their comparison between Chess and the eastern game of Go, a lightbulb.
JMHO your mileage will vary...
What concerns me is the damage that is being done to the efforts to defeat Obama in 2012.
The Palin supporters claim that Palin is "playing the media" but, in actuality, the media is playing them.
The media is lazy. They want stories that sell newspapers and boost ratings without working too hard. Once they find a story that sells, they pound it and pound it and pound it:
* The Charlie Sheen meltdowns
* The Kaylee Anthony murder and Casey Anthony trial
* The Natalee Holloway disappearance in Aruba
* Jon Bennet Ramsey
* The Lindsey Lohan arrests
* The Michael Jackson dramas
* The O.J. Simpson dramas
As long as they boost ratings and sell newspapers, those stories are gleefully pushed by the media. Like obituaries, these stories can be written in advance, filed away and then published when needed by tweaking a few current details.
"Too bad you have to work over the Labor Day weekend, Honey."
"What work? I pulled a 'Will Sarah Run' story from my files that I wrote a month ago and my sister will e-mail it to my editor tomorrow. Pack up the car and get the kids. We're going camping!"
While the media plays the game, the loyal Sarah supporters wait and wait and wait and some get more and more bitter about a Sarah Palin nomination. Some of them threaten to stay home on Election Day if Sarah is not nominated. As one Palin supporter posted on Free Republic a couple of days ago, "If Sarah does not get it, Obama can have it".
The game benefits the media by boosting ratings and selling newspapers but the game is hurting the efforts to defeat Obama in 2012.
Nothing sly or sneaky about it. She said she will announce in the Sept/Oct timeframe. They can, should they choose, end her contract now if they feel the slightest bit lied to or if she was in some violation of contract.
Realistically, their lawyers, and hers, would do nothing else if anything “underhanded” was afoot, don’t you agree?
There are filing deadlines that are approaching. October 31st is the filing deadline for Florida and South Carolina, and there's a whole host of others in November and early December. That she doesn't even have a campaign infrastructure in place at this point means that she had better get people and capital in place quickly in order to meet the deadlines, have somebody get through the minefield of paperwork and filing requirements, and pay the entry fees for 56 different state and territory primaries.
If she's running I'm sure she's aware of these, but there isn't a lot of time to start planning. Most candidates have already payed their filing fees and are on a lot of the ballots already.
They were forced by Fox’s LEGAL department for a conflict of interest if they even considered running, not based on their polling.
I posted a better article, perhaps you might want to read it to see that the policy would be for anyone on their payroll who would be considering a run for office.
OTFL...quite literally true some of them need a mineral oil enema they’re so full of......promises. ;)
I just love how some on FR analyze Gov. Palin. We will know her intention when SHE wants us to know and not a minute sooner. Everyone should just cool their jets, watch, wait and LISTEN.
