Palin: “there’s room for more” (audio) September 2, 2011 By O.Kay Henderson 4 Comments As former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin walked in the front door of The Machine Shed restaurant in Urbandale, Iowa, this evening, a reporter asked Palin what she thought about the current field of GOP presidential candidates.

“Happy with the field of candidates. I always think that there’s room for more, though, because spirited debate and more competition will allow an even better discourse and a more rigorous discourse that the public deserves,” Palin said.

Touchy are you? I suppose the same could be said for you, but then again, the first ammendment really does mean something. If she has a bigger soap box to voice her opinions than you, then we should diminsih her freedom to voice an opinion to something less than yours?

I agree there. But also consider that the “deal” so to speak for the terms of her potential resignation may well be that she announces it herself. That could have easily been a part of her contract to begin with and we’d never know.

If so, that means that she makes her Prez announcement, then immediately announces her resignation. Thus eliminating the potential for people to use that as a ‘marker’.

Sadly you need funding and end up like C Odonnell or with money a RossPerot; if you don't have the almighty GOP backing. The 64 million dollar question is can a third party grassroots type candidate make it? See my post in this other thread

Will anyone in either political party ever truly do all that I named in the link above? Would a Palin type/Bachmann/Cain be allowed to change the ponzi scheme if they miraculously got in; is *the* question!

The DNC and GOP need shut down or revamped. Until then they got da power like it or not.Palin is doing poorly in the," should she run," polls, because people IRL don't like her/could care less and or are sick of Palin's tease.IMO if Palin had a shot at grassroots/third party (WHICH WE NEED!) she should have announced earlier to build what is needed before the GOP are crowned- instead of tooling around in a bus getting paid to give speeches. She is a damned good advocate and voice of we the people and that just may be what her role is.

Whatever Sarah decides to do, she will be a very dynamic and positive force for the future of the United States, no matter what role she eventually plays. Heck, she’s playing a hell of a role now, God bless her.

Really? I guess the standing room only crowds she draws are what? Virtual, not there or what?

But then, your wisdom obviously trumps what I’m seeing with my own eyes.

Here's a better article on why I don't think she's running at this time:

Fox News Suspends Gingrich and Santorum, Citing Conflict of Interest

"We can't have Speaker Gingrich on our payroll while he is in the midst of an exploratory committee to see if he's going to run for office," she said. "It's a clear conflict."

On Tuesday Gingrich, having initially told several news agencies that he would formally launch a presidential exploratory committee Thursday in Atlanta, had to backtrack from the report later in the day.

The bizarre turnabout was due to legal concerns regarding his various income streams, Politico reported. Gingrich allies told the website that he will announce his intention to run as soon as all his legal issues have been resolved.

Brandi added that Santorum had told the network he planned to participate in the upcoming Republican primary debates. "That leads us to believe he is seriously considering running," she said.

Notably, the suspensions did not include two other Fox News contributors who are believed to be mulling a bid for the Republican nomination -- former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

"As soon as each of them shows some serious intention to form an exploratory committee, we would take the same action," Brandi told the Times. "Huckabee is on a book tour, so I think his present intention is to sell books."

When asked about Palin, Brandi said: "She hasn't yet shown a serious intention to form an exploratory committee."

The Times reported that Gingrich, a contributor since 1999, currently makes "nearly $1 million a year."

Palin makes $1 million a year, Huckabee earns "around $500,000 a year," and Santorum makes "a little under $100,000 a year."

“forced”? By who? The same handlers that so perfectly orchestrated their commanding lead in the polls?

People have long said that Sarah needs to get better at her political presentation.

She has done so. She can talk without saying anything just like the rest of them now.

How about she shut her mouth up until she decides and not take the space away from current candidates who actually had the courage to announce and campaign?

My My Current candidates can't compete against somebody who hasn't announced yet

What does that say about their Star Power

As a side note, for possible ‘markers’ look and see what the travel plans are for her Radio buddies in Alaska. I think she might have them on stage with her if/when she announces to keep her word and avoid any radio show/timing issues ;)

“crisis-a-minute Media “

“Turn off your damn TV.”

Very good points.

They lead everyone around by the nose; like castrated steers.
Remember Fukishima (they left out the thousands of earthquake dead); Gulf oil spill bringing immanent global destruction, the debt ceiling vote (yes important), hurricane last week, hurricane this week, etc etc...

Now of course these events are all serious and hurt real people.
But the point is that most people who were glued to the TV or Internet were not affected, and were just addicted to the thrill of watching “the sky is falling, the sky is falling”

Exactly. It is these candidates who are "going to find it difficult to keep up momentum". Palin will announce in her strategic time. People who seem to be swayed by the naysayers' anti-Palin campaign were never for Palin in the first place.

I love Sarah Palin but I think some of the naysayers and doubters are making a good point.

Palin is starting to look like she is nothing more than a publicity hound and in it for the attention and money. Enough is enough, time to make a decision.

I found a better article with more information that I pinged to you. According to Fox legal people, if she’s serious about running then she too will be suspended due to a conflict of interest.

Sarah Palin should run only if she feels she is ready. It’s not up to the pundits, or even the voters to decide if she should run or not.
Then we voters decide who goes up against 0 in the general.

People for Perry, Bachman, Romney, or whoever, should welcome the her to the party & continuously evaluate which of the candidates will represent them the best as the primary gets closer & vote for that candidate when the day comes.

Nobody should ever be discouraged from running a race, going for the gold, trying to do what they think is best, based on the opinions of others: Opinions are like ... and we all have em. Its a personal decision for Palin and her family. Myself, I hope she runs, she has my vote in the primary. No matter who wins the primary(should the real Bozo the clown enter the race on the Republican side with at least some conservative ideology). I will be voting ABO!
