Palin: theres room for more (audio) September 2, 2011 By O.Kay Henderson 4 Comments As former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin walked in the front door of The Machine Shed restaurant in Urbandale, Iowa, this evening, a reporter asked Palin what she thought about the current field of GOP presidential candidates.
Happy with the field of candidates. I always think that theres room for more, though, because spirited debate and more competition will allow an even better discourse and a more rigorous discourse that the public deserves, Palin said.

How is it a pathetic stretch when the post I responded to said she had her operatives in a lot of states already?
IF she’s setting up her network and playing coy about it with her employer, whose legal department made it abundantly clear that the minute she shows a serious sign of considering a run her contract would be suspended, then it is being deceptive.
SO, Why don’t you drop her a line and tell her to “Shut Your Mouth” and “Get Off The Pot” and on to your Schedule.!!
Keep making them wait Sarah!
I do believe Palins team has done far more exploring these past years since her VP run. She's doing just fine with what she has established.....forgetting that Palin does not run the "political acceptable way" doesn't help those who are trying hard to pigeon-hole her into the established set of rules. Those required she will fill .....those not she will do it the Palin way as expected....though never known.
Not exactly what she meant, but does anyone else find the eight - ten person debates almost useless? You get to know very little about any one candidate. It seems like their only purpose is to extract a gotcha moment and eliminate someone. Then the media get to pick our candidates. I'd like it better if there were weekly debates with three or four candidates on a rotating schedule. Then you get a full 15-30 minutes from each one instead of two or three 60 second bites.
With a statement like this ... she must be getting into the race. I can't think of another interpretation that makes any sense. If that's the case, she should just announce and be done with it and stop being such a pr!ck teaser.
I dunno, but this sure looks like a candidate in waiting to me:

How is it deceptive? Everyone knows those people are out there! She isn’t hiding them. If we know it, I’m sure Fox Legal does. Ergo, they haven’t canned her so things must be OK.
Yeah, you're right. Why, if Ronald Reagan had waited until November 13, 1979 to announce he was running in 1980, he never would have been elected.

I love Sarah Palin but I think some of the naysayers and doubters are making a good point...she is getting a little past ripe and if she doesnt announce soon shes going to find it difficult to keep up momentum.
What's that? Oh, never mind.
Speaking of exploratory committees, of what practical use are they? It would seem that some candidates have received reports from such committees and have been lied to or are ignoring their reports. Let’s face it a large field makes it interesting for voters but some of these folks should know by now that they’re just not gonna make the cut!
That’s some good parsing there. The whole article is about suspending two employees who expressed an interest in running for office, because of that being a conflict of interest. Fox wants to maintain a more neutral stance in the election and having people on their payroll who are running for office is not a good way of maintaining that neutrality.
Surely it’s not that hard to figure out.
she doesnt need to run till the filing deadline to be on the ballot. thats the deadline. not some bs deadline by the press.. i think having a palin-perry-bachman-cain race is good for the party... as long as romney doesnt win over them...
Those who understand Palin’s track history of “rogue” candidate should just continue to trust her judgment. I am certain Palin knew ahead there would be those who fall along the wayside....it goes with the territory...but undeniable her base remains solid and firmly in place....the others will “revive” once she declares.
Isn't the purpose of a exploratory committee to tell a candidate if they should run? Doesn't Palin already have people doing that?

Traditionally, candidates do ExComms. You yourself posted an article with the Fox lady saying “Until she does”.
What if she never does? She HAS NOT shown any “official” sign or said any ‘official’ thing she would run. It’s all speculation. Are you saying Fox should can her on speculation?
Those people can do all the groundwork needed for her PAC. That’s infrastructure that “CAN” be instantly converted, legally. Or not. So it looks to me like smart strategy, no deception on her part and PO’s opponents that cannot deal with a non traditional opponent.
She has done nothing illegal, unethical or immoral. If she has, what? To who? Where and when?
Relax. The election is more than a year away. Let the current crop cull the herd. These “debates” with 10 people are a soundbite bore. Sarah has plenty of time.
Well she certaily seems to got yours going! tsk tsk.....
I'm actually enjoying watching those get their pants in a knot she hasn't declared yet....just proves again and again Palin is in a class of her own and she continues to bring along the public voters with her in one way or another.....in the end, and when she determines her course....she has already been successful in affecting this race, the American people and every politician out there, not to mention the eyes of the International community.....the Presidency will simply be the icing on the cake if she wants it....and we are hoping for just that.
That’s a different topic from the conflict of interest issue for Fox. Do you honestly think they want to have people running for office on their payroll? That harms them in terms of maintaining a neutral position.
As far as the exploratory committee thing, I think it’s a good thing to see if you have a snowball’s chance in hell before wasting millions of dollars on a futile endeavor. Of course that’s my tightwad ways showing through. I don’t have a problem with anyone running, I do think it’s not a good thing to string supporters along if you have no intention of getting in a race.
The filing deadlines are different than they were 30 years ago. Florida and South Carolina’s filing deadlines are October 30th.
