"Even most Republicans (52%) believe it would be bad for the GOP,,,"

They're right, because a bunch of Republicans will be headed for the Graybar Hotel. It can be bad for the GOP and good for conservatives at the same time, and in fact, is just so.

These polls are as funny as they are meaningless. CHAWMP!!!

You're always quite the liar and trouble maker.

If the nominee is Romney, then Jim Robinson and a whole lot of us, won't vote for him either.

As for your candidate, Perry, who said he's going to keep his vaunted numbers when Palin gets into the race?

Will he drop out to endorse her if she leads him? That's what you want her to do, "for the good of the GOP" and beating Obama, according to the polls over 14 months out and no debates under either one's belt....LOL.

BTW, your fellow FReepers can post whatever they want. You sure do.

To: smoothsailing
Nope, she may not run, but she won't endorse Perry, either:

M. Kelly video from August 18th (11:42) When asked what would make Palin get in the race...

PALIN:(quickly typed)... still looking for a candidate I can get my heart and soul behind to support if I don't see that person in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service...

KELLY: Have you not found him or her yet?

PALIN: No, I'm impressed with the line up but there still is quite a long process, lot of coming and goings with this line up... I know I'm not the only potential candidate sitting on the sidelines waiting to see things unfold.

And from 8/12:

“I was quite sure that he wasn’t going to run, because he was adamant until about four months ago that he wasn’t going to run,” she said. But she was quick to add that Perry’s change of heart was fine. “I was surprised that he had changed his position on that, but I’m glad that he’s going to be in there.”

A reporter asked whether, if Obama had committed that sort of flip-flop, she would be more critical, she laughed. “I probably would, to tell you the truth,” she said…
Even with Perry in the race, she said, “I see room in the field. Definitely.”

“If at the end of the line he’s the one left standing, I would be extremely enthused about him because I’m a believer in ABO – anybody but Obama. So, absolutely. But there’s still a long time in this process,” Palin said, adding that Perry’s entry doesn’t affect her decision making.

Part of the problem with Sarah's numbers is very simple ~ every single poll that includes her is actually being done to find out the strength of SOMEONE ELSE.

When someone is just an add-in the negatives will be high due to poll design, an element of which is tricking it up so that YOUR GUY (or customer) doesn't get the negatives.

Once she's a candidate the poll designs will change and the results will be different ~ and she'll have to pay for some of the work herself

If she runs.

If she doesn't run she'll have the same negative numbers 8 years from now if it comes to that.

I’m not questioning your support. I’m making a point. You have the maximum saved ready to send her way as soon as she announces. So do I. So do many people here. I’m sure there are millions of her supporters around the country who do. Sarah will raise money. By postponing her entry into the race, she is actually reducing the amount of money she needs to raise.

I completely share your thoughts on the GOP. The GOP in IL is basically a branch of the democratic party.

And you know what I am a lot like you because when Obama ran for Senate in 2004 I wrote in Mike Ditka because I would not support the carpetbagger Alan Keyes who the idiot Republicans chose simply because he was black.

When that occurred I quickly realized that the Repubs were panderers and it disgusted me.

My concern is I want Sarah in now so she can not only get the money but DEBATE these tools. She will call them out and take them to the woodshed. So far these debates are as boring as watching paint dry.

The last debate pissed me off because I truly believe Bachmann would go after the RINOs and she didn't, I felt like she just crapped on all of us!

I truly believe that Sarah loves the underdog position, that way she has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

When push comes to shove, she will be fully prepared for bear.

That’s how she rolls.

These are all leading/misleading push-poll questions that aren’t asked of any other candidates.

The GOP trying to push Palin out, because the race is otherwise down to two go-along/get-along RINOs—Romney and Perry.

We Have A WINNER!

ALINSKY TACTIC NUMBER ONE.....it's not the power you have, it's the power other people think you have.

RASMUSSEN has NO power ... people just "think" [but not with their educated brains] Rasmussen has power.

AND to top it off, the 'poll questions' can be worded so that the desired result is produced.

8. "Keep the pressure on, with different tactics and actions, and utilize all events of the period for your purpose."
10. "The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign."

As Phyllis Schlafly so aptly put it:
"'The organizer's first job is to create the issues or problems,' and 'organizations must be based on many issues.' The organizer 'must first rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act. . . . An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent.'"

Nearly everyone in the political spectrum, especially on the left, but also on the "liberal-right" is using these 'organizer' tactics ... I call it 'alinskying the public.'

Like hell it is.

The country’s rise or fall is not dependant on Palin being President. It is not dependent on any ONE individual. That type of delusion is what has made people who like Palin resistant to her lately. The more I hear from her most fervent “fans” the less I want to see or hear from her just so they’ll go away. It’s getting close to the worship we witnessed toward Obama and I want no part of it.

I know the retort to this is usually that we hate her or fear or are trying to undermine her...and that’s all a lie. I don’t mind Sarah running. She won’t be the one I vote for but I’m not going to tell her to stay out. But I dislike most of her extremist fans who have lost sight that she is an imperfect human just like all the rest of us.

Who are these posters and why do they care? Members (conservatives) can vote or not vote for whomever they please.

A lot of us conservatives are through being taken for granted!

I am a Tea Party conservative first. I vote Republican, but I am through voting for incumbent, career politicians and RINOS.

I am primary-ing everyone I possibly can!

Let the others blow as much money as they want, their records will speak volumes.

Sarah has a great record to run on and if she does she has no problem ripping them a new one!

oops I forgot to put my /sarcasm tag after my first post. I am glad that there are FReepers who have the money saved to money bomb Sarah when she hops in.

I want her to debate though, I won't watch any of these debates to hear RINOs talk about how much better they are than Obama. And like I said Michele Bachmann disappointed me when she didn't go after Romney. Romney as everyone knows gave us Obamacare!!!

The good news is the other side of this glass-half-empty title. 39% are fine with or support a Palin presidential run.

Hell, that's more than Perry or Romney are drawing right now.

Apples and oranges, my friend. That is not 39% that say they would support her or vote for her if she ran - that is 39% that are fine with the idea of her running or are indifferent. When you start asking how many people would actually vote for her in the GOP primary, you get down into single digits for the most part.
