DES MOINES, Iowa -- Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perrys engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.
In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like crony capitalism and permanent political class in laying out her view of the U.S. political systems deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.
Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palins carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texans potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nations longest serving governor.

The more I learn about him, the more distressing it is to watch some of the so called "conservatives" on FR wetting themselves over this RINO squish. Crony capitalism is just one of the several deep issues with his record. They'll be on this thread to defend his cronyism soon, just watch.
If this is all that Palin accomplishes tomorrow, she is selling a bill of goods. So she flies into a long-hyped Tea Party rally where great expectations were created and gives a beautiful-sounding speech that in reality says nothing—that kinds reminds me of our president. She criticizes everything and everyone and then leaves.
Quite frankly Ive given up on Palin. She has had more than her 15 minutes of fame and it appears to me that she is trying to stretch it out. I did support her in the past but I have come to realize that I cant criticize liberals that remain ironfast in their crazy ideas if I do the same Im no worse than they are. A close unbiased look at Palins record reveals a not so nice picture. She quit as governor of Alaska; her TV show was short lived either by cancellation or non-renewal; a movie about her bombed as did a recent book about her. The way shes been running around lately and her supposed bus tour or whatever that farce was gives the appearance that she has absolutely no idea of her direction ..no way to lead this country as our current bozo proves to us. I dont know that much about Perry but from what I hear so far, he just might be the real deal and I look forward to the debates and his proposals.
Perhaps you should wait and listen to what she has to
say before denigrating it.
RCP will make it about Perry anyway. Didn't she endorse Perry in his most recent re-election?
No, you don’t get it. You don’t know when you’re being hustled. There is no there there.
A few already did. The problem is that too many FReepers think they're kooks.
Romney was on a local radio show yesterday. He called Perry more “extreme....errr conservative”.
But he promises to repeal Romney...errr Obamacare.
Call me crazy, but I suspect what Scott writes is probably true. However would she telegraph to all these outlets that in fact she is not announcing on Saturday?
I for one am not expecting her to announce on Saturday, but I still think she could, the surprise wow factor would still be there, everybody writing that she will not announce etc.
I love the fact that she will be going after Perry, I believe that!
Guaranteed.
Attention getting speeches = publicity = book sales = $$$.
Palin is the voice of this movement and if you don't like that then well, sorry.
If she does not get in she will damn well sure let our voice continue to echo.
So ozarks...u think the tea party would have influenced the last election cycle if not for Sarah?
She has taken advantage of people being wowed by her celebrity for a very long time and it's time for her to do something of substance. If she doesn't it's time for her devotees to recognize she is just another pretty face who is capitalizing off people's willingness to worship her.
NO problem....we won’t miss ya.
Exactly, and I see nothing wrong in that if people realize the reality of the situation. She is no savior of anything.
Perry is just another pay to play politician. It is the game they play - and he played it well. It isn't a disqualification in my mind from serious candidacy.
But this is why I like Palin - a talent for the turn of the phrase and an ability to see to the heart of a problem.
Death panels.
Crony capitalism.
Drill baby drill!
You betcha!
A realist, you are. Now, it’s time for some more people to wake up.
Perry is a believer in crony capitalism even though everyone knows that subsidized jobs destroys real jobs and corporate welfare creates an unlevel “playing field” that Rick Perry then complains about. lol.
