Palin to Rip "Crony Capitalism" in Iowa Speech
Real Clear Politics ^ | 09/02/11 | Scott Conroy

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.

In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like “crony capitalism” and “permanent political class” in laying out her view of the U.S. political system’s deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.

Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palin’s carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texan’s potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nation’s longest serving governor.

Guess that Perry endorsement the PDSers have been insisting Palin will make is now out of the question.

Heh.

Psst, it’s the economy stupid, as Bill Clinton famously said.

After 0bama and his war on jobs, people are looking at which candidate can deliver. Texas is the one state that has been able to weather the storm, even with 0bama’s job killing EPA targeting the state.

but at least he can make a decision!

Oh? Has he (and his children) been harassed and received death threats? His parents too?

I think that I prefer someone who takes being President seriously along with the cost to family. We already have enough egos in DC.

Bless your heart! Are your fingers cramped up from grasping at all those straws? LOL!

It’s been fun but I’ve got to skedaddle to get ready for a lunch date and a little weekend excursion. Honestly thanks for the debate. Quite stimulating.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!!

I like Sarah but she is not running for the presidency. More’s the pity because she might have something useful to contribute instead of being a perpetual gadfly.

At this point... I could not vote for him... period... and the perry-sites are part of the reason.

“I was quite sure that he wasn’t going to run, because he was adamant until about four months ago that he wasn’t going to run,” she said. But she was quick to add that Perry’s change of heart was fine. “I was surprised that he had changed his position on that, but I’m glad that he’s going to be in there.”

A reporter asked whether, if Obama had committed that sort of flip-flop, she would be more critical, she laughed. “I probably would, to tell you the truth,” she said…
Even with Perry in the race, she said, “I see room in the field. Definitely.”

“If at the end of the line he’s the one left standing, I would be extremely enthused about him because I’m a believer in ABO – anybody but Obama. So, absolutely. But there’s still a long time in this process,” Palin said, adding that Perry’s entry doesn’t affect her decision making.

First, I have never claimed she was running. Only that I hope she does.

If she does not run, who will you support?

I notice that you addressed nothing. That means one has no answer.

She hasn't announced a decision one way or another.

If she wanted in the race, she’d have said so by now.

I don’t have to decide that yet. And I will not be pushed by the press and their false deadlines.

Really? Obama is the log in America's eye as far as crony capitalism, yet this author assumes she's going to be talkign about the splinter? On what basis does the author have to believe that she's going after fellow Republicans? I get that there's a lot of interest in her running, but this is arranging the facts to fit the premise.

Comparing garden-variety good old boy hookups to trillion dollar giveaways to political supporters of all stripes, bailing out and assuming control of the auto industry, the banks, and the real estate market, it's not even in the same ballpark. It's not in the same league. It's not even the same sport.

Barack Obama is literally rearranging our economy for the corporations, unions and law enforcement agencies that support him to be tied in to his regime as government sponsored winners. That's fascism by any reasonable definition. Yet we're to believe that the true threat to the American way of life is Gardasil?

For the sake of Palin's credibility, I certainly hope this author is wrong.

Do you know you are probably the first person who has even tried to articulate why to vote for Palin. All I hear is Perry sucks. That was actually a reasoned response on why to vote for her.
