NBC Television and the White House are in ongoing discussions over coverage of President Obama's jobs speech and the NFL kick-off between the Packers and Saints.

Yesterday the White House announced that the presidential address would be over before kickoff at 7:30 next Thursday. But NBC was also planning to show extensive pre-game coverage, including some live concerts outside Lambeau Field about an hour before the game.

Of course, if the President was a Republican they wouldn’t even bother.

But since NBC has been face-down in Obama’s lap from the beginning,
why bother coming up for air now?

On obama's well deserved 10 day vacation to Martha's Vineyard, he visited the CEO of Comcast, the owner of NBC.

They were thinking of changing the call letters of NBC to GBC {gummint broadcasting company} but felt they were getting enough good publicity as it is.

Just let people replay the last 10 speeches, it will all be the same anyway.

Who cares...I hope the do muck up the pre-game...I will be watching Thursday night college football, and might turn on the game to see a score now and then, but that's about it.

I don't waste my time with NBC NFL broadcasts.

There’s more NFL fans than obuma fans. And the Kenyan worshippers just lost Wisconsin. I love the smell of burnt Marxist toast in the morning.

You know I just can’t believe this President or his handlers. Everything has to revolve around him or he has to turn it into a temper tantrum show.

Gee...Mr. “I have to be the center of attention,” how does it feel when the American public has you marginalized. No, we don’t want to hear from you. You have had 3 years to come up with a plan to lead this country out of the recession. Yet, everything you do only drags us deeper into your depression. YOUR DEPRESSION, the OBAMA DEPRESSION both economic and yours mentally.

Football is too expensive for the common man. They need to nationalize the sport, take it out of the hands of the owners and turn it over to the players union. Then they can have all the commercials be on behalf of the DNC, GM, AFL-CIO, NEA, Fannie and Freddie, Man Made Global Obesity, and maybe, Venezuelan vacation destinations.
Why, this is a crisis they can use!

It is really amateur hour over at the WH.

Either they had all of August to find a good date and blew it OR they more likely are trying so pathetically to manufacture a sense of urgency. NBC caving will just piss everyone off more.

NBC has also sold out its pre-game sponsorships for the NFL opener -- money that might be refunded to the advertisers if the broadcast plans change.

First, Obama has been saying the really crucial part of this is to address the joint session. Just do it away from TV cameras or let C-Span be the covering agency.

Second, if it's so vital to include me, Obama should pay NBC out of his campaign fund.

Finally, unless the content is irrelevant, make the speech today from the Oval Office. Why make us wait another full week to get America back to work?

I love football - and I have to admit that I also love the Green Bay Packers. If Wisconsin wasn’t already lost to Bumbles, this certainly is NOT going to help. When you look at Bumble’s approval ratings, you just can’t help but wonder where they would be without a MSM that props him up at every opportunity. If they treated Bumbles the way they treated Bush, the public would be screaming for impeachment based on plain incompetence by now.

obamma really screwed this up big time! He could have had the meeting on Friday night, or that matter during the daytime. Or he could have waited until next week. After all, he went on vacation for 10 days, so it is not a rush to deliver this political speech. He has really painted himself into a corner!

He is costing NBC some big money!

The more I think about this I come to the conclusion that the Speaker should have told him GFY, no speech to congress. At first I thought changing the date was the way to go but now I see this guy is intent on raming a political speech down the thoats of the public. How many presentations to Congress by a sitting President, WHERE HE ASKED FOR ONE, have there been in recorded history?

So, since he is so eager to address the Congress and the public during prime time, how about the Speaker tell him to bring along his original birth certificate and all his school papers and grades. After all, this is “holding back his message” because some of the public does not believe he belongs there so when better to exhibit to one and all these items which have been held back for so long?

I note the Speaker will have his jobs plan on Sept 15th. I wonder if it will be broadcast to the four corners of the World in prime time too? Of course not.

Obama overload! Can a day go by without hearing or seeing a picture of this clown?

This situation makes me wonder what the other hand is doing right now?

It is such an gaff that should not have happened and it could be amateur hour in the White House but I wonder what they are doing in the background while all this is getting all of the media attention.

Just why doesn’t nobama have the whole pre-game show be a family event: him self, his pushy-marie-antionette wife, his grifter relative-hangers-on, his illegal alien aunts & uncles... I’m sure everyone would really enjoy hearing an extended interview from this wonderful family. Why...they could give us all pointers and commands as to how we should think and live. It would be great!

Besides the obvious, it reminds me that our electorate is more interested in a football game than politics. As long as the bread and circuses are uninterrupted the masses will keep quiet.
