As I jumped in my car yesterday and headed home from work, I immediately recognized the raspy, Texas-seasoned voice coming across Newsradio 1040 WHO. It was Ken Crow, founder of Tea Party of America, the organization sponsoring this weekends Restoring America Event, which will feature former Alaska Governor and 2008 Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
I recognized Crows voice because, while attending the Polk County GOP Summer Picnic on Saturday afternoon, I had been approached by Crow who was hoping to arrange a meeting with Texas Governor Rick Perry, a presidential candidate and one of the speakers at the event. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I was at the event as a Perry volunteer, signing people up to receive additional information about the candidate. Crow, apparently not realizing that I was a nobody who has never even met Perry, let alone someone who has any sway whatsoever with his campaign (in fact, Ive not endorsed any candidate and I was simply there as a favor to a friend), told me he wanted to meet with the Texas Governor and perhaps endorse him in the near future.
I love Sarah Palin, Crow told me, but I know for a fact she aint gonna run.

I believe those Palin & Perry are talking strategy.
It will be an interesting to see how this unfolds.
” Maybe we are so fired up to get this election started, we are in a hurry to rally around someone right now. “ <<<<
You diagnosed the whole situation in a nut shell. WE NEED A LEADER. Now. That is why getting in early and hitting hard was necessary. We need our potential nominee to emerge early in this cycle for all the obvious reasons. We may not make it to the election if we can’t pull up our power source soon. The in-fighting is not comforting and because of the urgency, we will soon be looking around in larger numbers toward who exactly is responsible for it.
...now the question is "who put him up to it?"
Lots of people predicting that Palin will run. Lots of people predicting that she won’t run. Once her decision is known, lots of people will have been right and lots of people will have been wrong.
And few if any of those people will have done anything but make lucky guess.
I will go with nice snake
You are correct, there is plenty of time for her to jump in the race. The reason it is so hotly debated is because she is very polarizing, and many here have staked everything on her.
To me, it is obvious that she is not running, for many reasons. But I have no inside information. She may decide to run, in which case I will support her. I’m closer to Bachmann ideologically, but Bachmann’s gaffes are giving me pause. I’m lukewarm on Perry. Don’t love him, but will support him.
We`ve been hearing for weeks that this shindig is The Big One, and Palin is going to announce.
Now the folks who`ve been cheerleading all of that are saying Tea Party leaders are out to get Palin, and while Palin had no trouble supporting RINO McCain, somehow appearing onstage with O`Donnell is `backstabbing` her, Perry is aRINO, and everybody`s out to get her.
Either Palin is so lacking in judgment that she can`t possibly be considered a legitimate possibility for the WH, she`s paranoid to the point of near-insanity [I don`t believe either of those]...or everyone is out to get Poor Sarah! [I don`t think Palin is `poor` anything.]
Bailing on this is her version of McCain `suspending my campaign.`
Perry is going to load up his cabinet witrh Texas cronies. Trhey own him.
You should listen to Mark Steyn explain the phrase. He does it much better than I (and did so a while back when he sat in for Rush).
But he’s right. And I’ll bet you if/when Palin jumps in, Crow will be singing a different tune.
Aw, he must be a sexist.
Check out post 33 on this thread. It was a given that trouble makers (Rove)would love to see a Palin/Perry spit fight. I just don’t believe either of the two, Perry or Palin, would big foot the other while one is still on the bench. It makes no sense for either of them. They both would want the good will and support of the other’s supporters, wouldn’t they?
Poor ole Crow hasn’t even met Perry and because he thought he might support him, he wanted to meet him. Now look at the fall out from a casual remark made by some ordinary Joe, charged with putting a dang event together. Ridiculous.
I think she could leave an important mark in history if she could push through a plan for energy independence for the country. That should be one of the republicans key issues for 2012. No one wants to drive obama’s electric cars.
I'll see him Friday afternoon.
He already told me what actually happened!!
Well...clarify away...
So sitting home in a temper tantrum is better than working on ousting that dictator wannabe who is occupying our WH?
Any of the R’s running are better than the Marxist in Chief who is hellbent on destroying us.
So did Palin call Crow and give lowly him the exclusive story??? HIGHLY unlikely.
Me three!! Might just as well eat drink and be merry...but that aint happening because she is running. She may not allow herself to announce at this event though?
...so no one knows who booked O’Donnell?
