Palin’s Saturday Speech Still On, Tea Party Founder Says
ABC News ^ | August 31, 2011 | Sheila Marikar

Posted on 08/31/2011 10:39:22 AM PDT by AAABEST

ABC News’ Sheila Marikar and Shushannah Walshe report:

Sarah Palin has not canceled her keynote speech for the Tea Party of America’s Saturday rally in Indianola, Iowa, according to the event’s organizers.

Ken Crow, the founder of the Tea Party of America, told ABC News this morning that he “hung up with [Palin's] people five minutes ago” and “she’ll be here on Saturday.”

“Gov. Palin is a lady of her word and impeccably honest,” he added. He admitted that the organization’s encountered “a couple of errors” in planning the Sept. 3 rally.

“I’m naive when it comes to politics and what you are supposed to say to and not say and my crew and I are rookies at this sort of thing,” he said. “We made mistakes and now we are fixing them. It’s all good.”

I thought this was good (for now) because the other “on hold” thread is here, but Feel free to take this out of “breaking” if need be.

Good. I hope she’ll use the occasion to bring some closure to the drama. A lot of it isn’t her fault, but none of it helps her.

The only drama is in the media and with people who think they know when she should announce, not with Sarah.

Still on??

But, but...

There’s over 360 posts on this thread

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2771471/posts

with many FReepers in a snit over this non-issue.

Honestly. You’d think some FReepers were as dumb as the media.

Hasn’t Sarah been playing the presstards for months and years now? All to her advantage? NO ONE is going to tell her when and if she must decide. And for many FReepers to wad their panties in despair over silly blogs and twits is very sad.

OODA Loop

From wikipedia:

The key is to obscure your intentions and make them unpredictable to your opponent while you simultaneously clarify his intentions. That is, operate at a faster tempo to generate rapidly changing conditions that inhibit your opponent from adapting or reacting to those changes and that suppress or destroy his awareness. Thus, a hodgepodge of confusion and disorder occur to cause him to over- or under-react to conditions or activities that appear to be uncertain, ambiguous, or incomprehensible.

Developed by military strategist John Boyd, used with great effect in the first Gulf War.
I swear that Sarah is doing precisely this.

I think it's brilliant.

On again; off again; on again....

Let me guess... the contact with the Palin team is Meg Stapleton.

If Sarah does jump into the campaign, I hope her team gets its communication act together. This mixed messaging has happened numerous times before.

Just say she’s executing a “rope-a-dope”. It’s what people said about Bush for years....

FYI...all sources seem to indicate the “drama” wasn’t intentionally sought but a consequence of the Christine O’Donnell invitation.

The tactic very well may be brilliant.... but the American public isn't. Reports of on-again/off-again appearances won't win over the on-the-fence voters whom she needs. Like it or not, she comes across as indecisive.

I accept the fact that it was not intentionally sought.

The thing with the OODA loop is that the opponent loses the ability to accurately judge what you do on purpose, what you do accidentally, and what you didn't do at all.

I think Sarah is operating a small, cohesive team which knows what it is doing and which is not attempting to explain itslf to anyone else. They move very fast. Their opponents (the media, the Dems, the Republican elitists) cannot operate at that speed. This creates chaos, and chaos which works to Sarah's advantage.

If the Christine O’Donnell invitation adds fuel to that, it's fine. Sarah is positioned to make use of it, while the media is caught flat-footed. She doesn't have to be involved in the initial action, but she can come out of it looking better than before.

Most people aren't even paying attention.

Reagan declared in Oct 1979.
Franklin Pierce was chosen at the Convention.

Sarah is traveling, meeting people, getting the word out. There are people who think "she isn't doing it right" and they think she's screwing up.

We'll see. My feeling is that most people don't care in the slightest. I don't think she's hurting herself.

Memo to PDSers who may wish to avoid looking like total jerks. Whenever stories detrimental to Gov Palin come out, count to 1,000 before you join the fray with your tired and worn-out Palin slams. The MSM and E-GOP do not have her best interests at heart. They are like circling vultures ever ready to swoop in at a moments notice.

So, remember that unless Palin information comes straight from Sarah's mouth, it remains suspect.

You PalinBots are hillarious, I mean it is fall down laughing funny. Sarah Plain is purposely spreading false info and being deliberately vague and evasive to throw off the MSM and therefore bolster her chances in 2012. We all know if she is crafty with the media that their frustration will then turn into actual votes at the ballotbox. Damn she puts Kasparov to shame. It's sad actually, the messiah worship, the hanging on every move and utterance.

I keep hearing those sentiments bandied about. What exactly is the drama? Palin told us multiple times that her decision would be made in the August/September timeframe. Well, September starts tomorrow and it has 30 days. So let's take a chill pill and let events play out in their due course. Within 30 days, we will know one way or the other if she is running.

And exactly how is this so-called "suspense" hurting her? Once the campaign starts for real, do you think anybody is going to care (or even remember) that she got into the race a little later than the rest?

She is running an unorthodox campaign.

Could be smart. Could be stupid.

I do not think we have yet seen any politician run a 21st century campaign, making really good use of new media. So far, everyone is still dependent on the MSM to act as an intermediary between the politician and the voters.

If Sarah found a way to run the next level of political campaign, would we recognize it?
If she tried to do that, would she do it well? Or would she crash and burn in an attempt to think outside the box?

I don't know. And neither do you.
