Approximately 65 million people are likely to be directly impacted by Hurricane Irene as the storm takes aim at the densely populated Eastern Seaboard. Evacuations are underway for high flood risk areas.
Mass transit cancellations, schedule changes and road/bridge closures are occurring throughout the storm warning areas. Please check with local news and Emergency Management Operations to determine the recommendations for your immediate area.

“the true story must be recorded.”
And it definitely was on those Katrina threads. It would also be a fantastic way to raise money for FR.
Bands of heavy rain are now into central PA.
Dang, try to live right, eat the right foods with plenty of fiber and I still wind up with a hemorrhoid on my ass.Either that or it’s a dingleberry, either way it’s still a pain in the buttocks.
Oops. I posted the same website twice. Here is the other one:

Prayers of protection for our NY FRiends.
Lainieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....good to see you. Sure do miss your Drudge threads.
We do too, but it didn't get as much media coverage as Nashville. It all came as such a surprise. We knew rain was expected, but not massive floods.
Kudos!
Yes, I see the familiar motion. Thanks for that graphic.
Rain and wind starting to intensify here in NW Connecticut. It's only a matter of time 'til we lose power.
Godspeed to you, IT, and to all of us in Irene's path...
I hadn’t thought of that. And you know we’ll go with you and help out anyway we can. Probably won’t be able to get in my your place tomorrow, but will keep you posted about when it will be accessible and will make a foray in with the 4wheel drive for you
That picture looks like Obama’s economic plan.
I'll be signing off soon. Rain and wind starting to intensify here in NW Connecticut. Take care and stay safe...
“I still think JR should publish the Katrina threads as a book.”
Just a note. FR threads tend to disappear in a few years. I guess the database gets to big and old threads are dumped. You should make copies of any threads you wish to keep.
I agree wholeheartedly:
The story of Katrina, as told by those who DIDN’T think President Bush was anything like what kanye west’s disgusting slur painted him.
Dubya may not have been perfect, but he was FAR better than anything the Pubbies OR ‘rats had nominated in 4 elections!
But I do find your info intriguing.
Lets all try to get along... shouldnt this thread be big enough for all of us?
:)
Stay safe and dry, nutmeg. God bless you and yours thru
the night.

My dog slow net service is just because of my location. I have a Virgin Mobile air card and it relies on cell tower service.
I’m just thankful it didn’t go down altogether, just giving me a seriously slow connection at times. Which is a lot better than my cell phone, haven’t been able to get a signal on that all day. Of course I often have to go outside to get one anyway, and that was not going to happen today!
Prayers for one and all................
Hi buckeys!! How ya been?
I got ya beat... we were out for a week and a half after Gloria. I lived in East Hartford (on the Glastonbury line) back then. We were the LAST neighborhood to get power in the Hartford area, I believe. Maybe even the entire state.
I just switched back to NBC CT from Channel 3. I like Bruce DePrest, but he's got that Drama Queen Scott Whateverhisnameis flitting around the studio talking about himself and how his stupid poncho was blowing in the wind a few hours ago. Unbelievable. Poor Bruce looked uncomfortable. I switched back to NBC CT, Channel 30 to get some actual news about Hurricane Irene.
