SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

Hiya good buddy!

I saw that mayhem the other night. I had to sit on my hands to stop me from posting in your defense so I wouldn’t out you as a Sarah Palin supporter. LOL.

This article leaves me perplexed as to the date of her announcement. I am still hoping for the 3 of September, because I want to go see her in Tampa on September 12, but like Syncro says, she won’t want to make Rove right....!

Sarah Palin is out of the box, she can do anything she wants to do.

She can show up without announcing, Bachmann did in the MSM farce of a debate.

Of course Michele did promise to announce on a particular day in the future, and she did.

Oh dear. I most certainly hope you’re feeling a whole lot better now? I’m sure I had food poisoning from that luscious seafood salad. I feel all right now, after sleeping hours today and I can keep tea and crackers down and also nice, cool water. Not hungry anyway.

Yep, I’m also getting anxious for Sarah’s announcement, but she has the keenest political instincts, and I know she prays for His guidance, so I’m faithfully with her!

We have to remember that she is not running a tradtional campaign with lots of staff and advisors, so everything has to be in place for the massive grasroots campaign and our onslaught of individual donations!

Be well, dearest you, and stay away from that late night eating! ((((haircutter))))

You’re right about that with Sarah and Bachmann too!

IN YOUR FACE, LAMESTREAM!

Lou Dobbs is doing a piece on Plain next on Fox Business News.

Something about her announcement.

Well let us know what goes down, onyx

I don’t get Fox Biz, and they don’t stream live.

Not an unusual typo to make, Palin is plain folks just like us!

DirecTV cut out on me and I tried to rewinde but of course I got the same choppiness. This happens whenever the weather is crappy. Apparently, it was a round table segment, but I am going to try to watch the replay.

>>No way this Palin supporter will rally around Perry. No way in hell for him or any other RINO.

AMEN. McCain Redux. Never Again. Better to let USA go down (which will happen with either O or Perry or any other NON-Constitutionalist), and focus on rebuilding/restoration.

I hope they've got suitable bandwidth when that day comes. It's going to be one for the record books.

Tired phrase, but *you betcha*! It'll be a day for the record books!

I think trisham gracefully answered your concerns and if she didn’t, Jim did earlier on this thread.

Presuming that you are serious about caucus threads for politicians, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of Free Republic as a CONSERVATIVE DISCUSSION board? If you would discuss instead of enflame, the responses might be different. Having been attacked on the pro-perry threads for stating facts, answering questions which get more and more outlandish as the facts become less refutable, and not once endorsing any other candidate, I would ask you how a caucus thread would have changed that...since the only subject was perry.

Hola, hola, hola mi Amiga!

You'll notice the Perry supporters cannot defend his abysmal record w/o attacking Sarah. How pathetically weak!
