SarahPAC: Setting The Record Straight – Wrong & Misleading

Posted on August 22 2011 - 11:33 PM - Posted by:

SarahPAC released the following statement:

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.

Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:

Here she is, in her own words:

Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?

Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but…

Q: So by next month?

Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.

A few moments later, there was this exchange:

Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?

Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.

Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?

Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.

Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?

Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.

Yes, that "Come on over and join the fun" spam is a joke. I look at the Perry threads and fun they are not. Perry might be a cut above many of the contenders but he is just another establishment politician in my opinion. Like the lyric from the famous Who song goes "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

What Perry definitely is not is a TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE. And until there are no Tea Party conservatives to get behind in this presidential election, I'm not even going to consider getting behind. We still have months to go and the first real primary/caucus is still nearly 5 months away. Plenty of time to wait for Palin to get in this race, which I believe she will, and when she does, she is getting 100% support from me.

You will be best served if you read Jim Robinson’s comments on this thread, not mine. He’s not all that fond of Perry either, so don’t expect a lot of us to rally around GWBII. I also think you have a skewed interpretation of trolling. The poster SPAM trolled in post #3. and was called out for it by me first, and then the Boss, Jim Robinson.

If and when Sarah jumps in the race, I predict that the “money bomb” AND the “endorsements” that will descend on her that very day will “Shock & Awe” both the ‘RATS and RINOS to the point of slobbering all over themselves as they run in fear to find their security blankets. :)

I said Palin’s endorsement would be fought over like dogs over bones. Would you like me to post the comment and your reply?

I read it and I hope this means Jim is gonna keep us separated. That said, my family and I and my extended have attended many Tea Party rallies. My son has a Don't Tread on Me T-shirt he wears all the time.

If you want to respond, send a private message so as not to disrupt this thread any further

No way this Palin supporter will rally around Perry. No way in hell for him or any other RINO.

Good morning CW.

I have appreciated the Perry threads you have posted, they've been highly informative for me. The more I read about him, particularly his stance on illegals, the more I have come to distrust him as a candidate.

I will very likely support him if he wins the nomination, and I agree he appears to make a good candidate for taking out Bambi.

Unfortunately, I don't want just a "good candidate", I want a great president, one I can have confidence in to govern as a Reagan conservative.

I hope she runs, and I hope she wins.

My won personal opinion (and thanks again for the ping) is that she would like to wait until after the Sep 22nd "debate". There was never any value in her participating. Sort of like the basketball team that gets a first round bye in the playoffs.

I think her announcement will be something of a "shock and awe" event that will seek to dispel right out of the gate many of the MSM/Dem/RINO mischaracterizations about her. I do not think this will look like any of the traditional "roll out". I look forward to the affirmative announcement.

Good morning, Sharky!

I have to disagree with you on Texas Governor’s electability just 4 short years after President Bush! I think obamie and the democrats are likely salivating at the thought of running against President Bush ,.... again.

GO SARAH!
