Sounds like some of the posters on Freerepublic who have already picked other candidates in the race.

Too bad their going to be proven wrong real soon!

Well....I think the only thing that is “certain” (your certainty notwithstanding) is that at SOME point, a bunch of folks are going to be wrong.

I don’t know when that date will be. Perhaps October 1? Perhaps later?

Hard to say. Till then, I think we can all enjoy the speculation and opinionating.....

It’s at a point where it’s ridiculous. Sarah KNOWS whether or not she is running. Considering Perry is the last likely candidate what exactly is Palin waiting for? If she passes on the Sept. 3 speech, she is not running. And she will become irrelevent if she doesn’t run because the people that pinned such hopes on her and she strung along this late and couldn’t come to a conclusion with Perry are going to be ticked big time. What does what she says matter anymore after that. She has right not to run, but it is way past time for her to continue this if she is not.

Sarah is a nice lady. She can deliver a speech with a conservative theme.
This however does not mean she should be President. I think a guy like Perry can take it to the libs who will try to maul him.Sarah is not vicious enough to fight the big battle. Even G. Bush was not tough enough to fairly defend the Administration. The media walked all over him.
Perry will fight back—hard.

If she decides not to run I hope to hell whoever gets the nod puts her in the vice slot the instant he or she reaches that plateau.

We need her in Washington now, and her energy experience, period.

“A candidate for national office needs to focus on building a national finance committee, recruiting talented operatives and campaign leadership in the five early states, and developing a message with a narrative that is based on conservative values and positions,” said GOP strategist Scott Reed. “Sarah Palin is zero-for-three.”

This is what some of us who don't think she is running look at. We don't see where these important details are being done. Stiffs like Romney have been working 24/7 since before the '08 election to build these. They do not appear over night. Reagan was working on these all between '76 and '80 so that he could roll in late and be ready to go. He also had John Sears, Mike Deaver, Ed Meese , solid political people.

I know that this Scott Reid is Doles old campaign manager, so who cares what a loser has to say, but isn't Palins chief of staff Bob Doles old Senior Adviser?

The time commitment: Palin has been a nearly constant part of the conversation when it comes to the presidential race, but she has made a habit of virtually disappearing for weeks at a time.

This is the most compelling reason -- Palin is simply not prepared or inclined to undertake a commitment of this length.

The title should read:

Patience is a virtue. Every minute that Palin waits to declare just drives those forces arrayed against her up a wall a little bit more. She's calculating this for maximum effect, making them spend all of their ammunition, throwing everything they have out there, just so when they have shown themselves for what they really are, exhausted every barb and jab, that's when She'll come out with both barrels loaded for bear.

“...her bus tour, which went on hiatus after a trip up the East Coast and then resumed — apparently for just one day — for the Iowa trip”?

Shows just how clueless the hacks who write for the Washington Post.

The Independents won’t get behind her in a Presidential race. She can’t win.

It does not look to me like Sara is going to go for it. I wish she would but you have to want to be president. And you have to believe you are the best person available for the job. Lacking either belief disqualifies you. I am curious has Dick Army said anything on this subject?

In the past I have repeatedly said she has more time to say yea or nay.

Not anymore, the situation for her is now reaching critical mass. I do believe a no will hurt her brand for any future endeavor to run, for after all the teasing hoopla, who will give her any due for being a serious candidate. It would be extremely difficult to rekindle any future enthusiasm for her with me.
