مُعَمَّر القَذَّافِي ‎ Muʿammar al-Qaḏḏāfī

The 'a in Mu'ammar is a weird letter, a consonant, not in the English language. It's a sort of 'a' pronounced in the back of the throat.

The Q is a 'q' in Arabic, but has local pronunciations, like a soft 'q' or 'gh' The 'q' can be pronounced in the back of the throat, making it a muffled sound.

The 'd' is doubled, so it's a long 'd' of all things.

The last 'a' is a long 'ah' sound.

So, Qaddafi can be pronounced q(qh) ah dd ahhh (emphasize the dd ahh syllable) f ee.

Unless you know ayn, the weird 'a' of his 1st name, you're on your own here.
