A debatable point. However, how is it even possible for illegal aliens to serve in the US military?
Well, Perry isn't Commander in Chief so.....the FEDERAL government???
Exactly, it is a slippery and dangerous slope, allowing those people into the military, that are not citizens in the first place. We are on the path to having a mercenary army folks.
But in South Carolina Saturday, he said he supported a main tenet of that bill -- that illegal immigrants can earn their citizenship by serving honorably in the military
There is no indication in the article the illegals are serving, just that serving in the military would be a path to citizenship for them. I am not sure if I support that or not, but certainly its a far cry from amnesty.
Exactly! Some heads need to roll on that issue alone.
This was a provision of the Dream Act...Harry Reid's Dream Act. But RINO Rick has a Dream Act of his own so he apparently thinks it's okay. Given that he is pro-ILLEGAL alien...why wouldn't he?
Doing jobs Americans won’t do?
Ah, so people who lie or are blackmailed by foreign governments or terrorists are allowed in the military now? Just because they slap on a uniform and seem to serve? Meanwhile legit US recruits are turned away on idiotic looks at their records such as whether they were homeschooled or not?
Good question. And, the question itself should result in an investigation as to how it's happening.
This is what ancient Rome did. Sure didn’t work out for them, did it?
Sad to say, it will probably trick hispanics ~ but no one else.
Very good question.
Can you say, ‘Holder Justice Department’?
I wondered about that too. But if an illegal served his commission and then outted himself as an illegal, I would be okay in recommending such a person for citizenship. After all, what higher calling can someone serve than to fight for the United States? I mean, there are thousands of liberal pukes who hate America and would never lift a finger to defend us and they get to be citizens just by the luck of where they were born.
IMO, a person who serves honorably in the military deserves our thanks as well as our citizenship even if it turns out he wasn't a legal citizen. If that's possible.
They can't, I'm thinking this was just a misstatement by Perry that wasn't picked up and corrected by him.......
More Perry voters.
We have had undocumented immigrants in the United States military for as long as I can remember. I had two East Germans in my outfit who were granted citizenship just before completing their first tour of duty in the Army. Every year the services used to have (and I think still have) a citizenship ceremony where soldiers are sworn-in.
Illegal aliens have served in the Military as a path for citizenship for a lot of years. This is nothing new.
Food for thought....
Illegal immigrants are currently subject to the draft.
they sign up, and don’t ask? not sure, this has been happening, nice huh? Our legal men and women fighting side by side with illegal foreigners?
