Service for Citizenship has been a long-standing tradition in English-speaking countries, going back about, oh, 600+ years?
Nobody says they have to be silo officers, but a six-year tour deserves to be rewarded. These are folks willing to trade their LIVES for us, in return for Citizenship. Isn’t this the type of immigration we’d LIKE to encourage?
Non citizens have been serving in the military for a couple of decades that I know of. I knew a few Germans who signed up in Germany and served in the US Army.
Agreed. What value do they provide to the military other than having a pulse? In all likelihood they don’t speak English, they have minimal math skills and thus are a drain on training.
