Christie: Climate change is real
By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 8/19/11 9:57 PM EDT
Chris Christie made clear he falls in the Jon Huntsman camp as opposed to the Rick Perry camp on the scientific-political issue of the week in the Republican primary:
In vetoing a bill (S2946) that would have required New Jersey to stay in a regional program intended to curb greenhouse gases a program Christie plans to leave by the end of the year the governor said "climate change is real."
He added that "human activity plays a role in these changes" and that climate change is "impacting our state."
**SNIP**
Christie's come full circle on the issue. Last year, he told a town hall audience in Toms River he was skeptical climate change is the result of human activity. He backed off those comments at a conference of environmentalists in May and agreed to meet with climate scientists for a lesson in global warming.

It is real simple: Yankee + Republican = RINO.
Climate change is as real as the changing of the seasons...
No, wait...What?
I believe Christie is correct that human activity does/can impact global climate change just by virtue of being part of the Eco system. However, if Christie meant to imply that human activity is in any way a major or even significant contributor/cause to the climate change he was really off base and not even in in the ball park. He needs to clarify his position on this with creditable references. He also should explain his acceptance of Muslim friendship.
Wobal glarming strikes down another great thinker. /s
Human activity can impact the local environment, but global climate change on Earth, Mars, Venus, and other planets is caused by the Sun. Mankind has zero measurable impact on global climate change.
Water vapor and clouds are the primary drivers of climate change, as driven by the Sun, whether it be cosmic rays or variations in solar radiation, or magnetic field changes, or distance from the Earth.
So I say,go for it Christie!
He’s borrowing from GA Jimmy who said in 1977 or 1978 “the energy crisis is real.”
Governor Christie seems to have found a way to keep people from pestering him about running for president.
Climate change is real.
And human activity may have a role in that.
Climate-change science makes for hot politics
Global Warming on Free Republic
Well, the problem is he is stomping all over the message,
1. Climate always changes
2. Humans are part of the biosphere of the planet so it is impossible that they don’t have an impact
3. The real questions are,
a. how much does humans influence the climate? Is it practical to think that humans can through a behavior b. change mitigate their affect on it
c. for what benefit?
d. at what cost?
Perry’s answer to this complicated mess of questions of where exactly these greenie weanie arguments fell short to the simple “NO” it doesn’t exist.
Christi thinks he can’t say that, so he simply says “YES”
The majority of voters can’t deal with this, they want it baked down to yes or no. Perry honors them by doing this.
We conservatives have to know what he means by Yes and if that would mean anything significantly different between the two.
If Christi thinks that the changes to CO2 output will correct for any climate change, he fails the intelligence test.
That’s true, he says it as fact when it is nothing but his belief.
He doesn’t know enough to really know if it is real or not, he is going based on someone he trusts......that is what worries me.
Carbon Dioxide portion of Greenhouse gases: 4%
Man made Carbon Dioxide: 3% of all Carbon Dioxide generated.
Green house gas reduction if all man made actions ceased: 0.12%
It is pure hubris to think that we affect the earth's temperature.
Unicorns are real too,
