THE recent case of the Muslim men accused of lashing another Muslim in his home is still to be decided by the courts but early reports suggest that Islam was once again hijacked and used as justification for criminal behaviour.
As lawyers and as Muslims, we find it reprehensible when Islamic jurisprudence is appropriated by backyard thugs whose actions show an utter contempt and arrogant disdain for the ethical, moral and reasonable principles that underlie Islamic theology.
The majority of Muslims are fed up with a minority who are content to manufacture ugly interpretations of Islam, (Blah, blah, cluck, cluck....more koranimal lies)

The majority of muslims are giving the minority a bad name. I have met one muslim man in my life. He was my direct supervisor in the Army. He was a fine NCO, a patriot and a good man. Of course he was born and raised in America so maybe that’s the difference? I dunno. He was one of the best NCO’s I ever knew.
Nowadays, I might not trust him as much as I did then.

there are many Muslims born in the USA who are radical.
and some who were born in Pakistan, who secretly admit they don’t believe in it, and think Islam is evil.
the biggest factor i’ve seen, is how well they know Islam.

Yeah, right. That's why there was such a deafening roar when Americans' are beheaded or 3000 are murdered when they showed up for work in NYC ten years ago. My view of Islam is not going to change until these non-existent "moderate" Muslims find their voices and start screaming at their own for the heinous acts they perpetrate on humanity in the name of Islam.

He may have, but he had an office where he would have likely done that. He did observe the dietary restrictions I know because I recall a discussion about why he would not eat bratwurst (we were in Germany) or most of the food there.
When invited to my home for dinner, he first asked what we were having as he couldn’t eat any pork. I never saw him pray but since he observed the dietary restrictions so closely I assume he did pray.

This happened only a FEW times before - the Conquest of the Holy Land, the invasion of Persia, the invasion of India under the Moguls, the conquest of Christian North Africa, the invasion of Spain, the invasion of France, the sack of Constantinople, the attack on Vienna, the sacking of various assorted Christian settlements in the northern Mediterranean, a slave raid on Ireland, the Barbary pirates, the use of Janissaries, slave raids in Ukraine and Southern Russia, the Armenian/Assyrian Christian holocaust, continuing attacks on Israel, the suppression of Coptic and Zoroastrian and Baha'i and Sikh and Hindu and Buddhist and Animist faiths, honor killings in the mid-east and even in western Europe and North America, hanging of homosexuals, raping of Christian women in Scandinavia, efforts to impose Sharia Law in the west, burying women alive in Turkey, slavery in the Sudan, blowing up the world trade center, continued attempts to kill Westerners, a few thousand contemporary floggins, decapitations, mutiliations and stonings, etc. etc.
If only those “few” hooligans who “just happen” to be Muslims would stop, the true, peaceful nature of Islam would be manifest!!!
We had a Cadet who was a great guy until someone with the nation of islam got hold of him.
Long story short...went AWOL, our unit tried to find him (MP Co) with no luck, then he started sending letters to unit telling us that the army of allah was going to destroy the US and us.
Beside that little odd behavior he was alright.

I thought it was interesting that one lawyer wears “regular” clothes and the other wears what I assume is “regular” Muslim garb.
Is that some kind of code/are they doing this clothing for a particular reason - advancing Islam, so they won't get stoned, etc; as long as one is traditional and can vouch for the other, etc.

Is it even possible to meet a Muslim and not be suspicious first or make them work for your trust.
When I meet Christians of a denomination different from mine, I do not immediatly feel negativity. It does not come to my mind automatically that I should be suspicious of them.
But, upon meeting a Muslim, I do have a negative, automatic bias and it is difficult to jive Christian love for one another and, thereby, maybe in doing so one might encounter angels VS. the feelings of fear and caution
I have re: Muslim and Islam.
Hope I am making sense.
It is difficult to think about Muslim/Islam issues before a morning Xanax (low dose) and coffee cream splashed with a bit of coffee!
