For those who care to spend the time, utube has lots of videos of Mexicans scaling the border fence in AZ. One video showed two women scaling the fence w/o a ladder in 18 seconds. For those determined, a fence is a minor inconvenience.

Here is Rick Perry in His Own words
Rick Perry Supports Obamacare for Mexican citizens why would he secure the borders?
“Legislation authored by border legislators Pat Haggerty and Eddie Lucio establishes an important study that will look at the feasibility of bi-national health insurance. This study recognizes that the Mexican and U.S. sides of the border compose one region, and we must address health care problems throughout that region. Thats why I am also excited that Texas Secretary of State Henry Cuellar is working on an initiative that could extend the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border.”
Rick Perry supports Texas money to educate Illegals
“As a compassionate state, we know that for our children to succeed, they must not only be healthy, but educated. The future leaders of our two nations are learning their fractions and their ABCs in classrooms all along this border. Immigrants from around the world are being taught in Texas classrooms, and our history is rich with examples of new citizens who have made great contributions. We must say to every Texas child learning in a Texas classroom, we dont care where you come from, but where you are going, and we are going to do everything we can to help you get there. And that vision must include the children of undocumented workers. “
Perry on Providing Special College rates for illegals
“Thats why Texas took the national lead in allowing such deserving young minds to attend a Texas college at a resident rate. Those young minds are a part of a new generation of leaders, the doors of higher education must be open to them. The message is simple: educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.”
Rick Perry supports an open border
“President Foxs vision for an open border is a vision I embrace, as long as we demonstrate the will to address the obstacles to it.”
Rick Perry supports Mexican truckers taking U.S. jobs.
“That is why it is wrong, and inherently detrimental to our relationship with Mexico for the U.S. Congress to pursue a protectionist policy that forbids Mexican trucks from U.S. roadways. It is bad public policy, and it violates the terms of the NAFTA agreement we agreed to. Mexican trucks that meet our safety standards should be given the same access to U.S. roads as our Canadian neighbors to the north”
Perry opposes a Law like Arizon’s for Texas His excuse...he said he does not want to tie up Texas law enforcement resources because it would take them away from enforcing other criminal activities (ie. rape, burgularies, drug trafficking , murders) you know the crimes that are so often committed by illegals, that he doesn’t want to waste our resources on.

Perry’s right.... There are some areas like the Rio Grande valley where a fence is not practical. They’ve put up a wall in areas that cut ranches in half. There are Texans that actually live on the “mexico” side of the wall. Cutting Americans off from a major natural resource is...”ridiculus”. There are alternatives.

- Deport illegal aliens on contact with LE.
- Enforce the law vigorously on employers of illegals.
- Strong border security. Build the physical fence and use high-tech surveillance.
- Eliminate entitlements for illegal aliens except for true emergency care.
- End the "anchor baby" policy.
Do those things and illegal aliens would deport themselves muy pronto!
Points 1,2,4 & 5 would probably make the fence nearly unnecessary. Would Perry or any other pol be willing to do them?

Looks like a shovel ready job if there ever was one. We’re not talking about rocket science here. But just in case this is too technologically advanced for Perry to handle he could always hire all the recently laid off NASA Shuttle employees.
I mean we’re not talking about a giant suspension bridge between Marin County CA and San Francisco or perhaps some goofy idea like a dam across the Colorado River out in the mountainous terrain of the American Southwest. We know Americans are far too stupid for major accomplishments such as these. But if push comes to shove we’ll do what we seem to do best now a days: hire the Chinese. Seems I read somewhere they know how to build very large walls across very long distances.

I know there are a whole lot of Texans living in that area that are COMPLETELY against a fence. IF I remember correctly...they say it will ruin their area of Texas. I am going to go look and see if I can find an article on it...but it was quite revealing and surprising they felt that way.

He may call it rediculouis...but it was passed into law and as President it would be his job to make sure the law was enforced.
Some people thought that getting to the moon in 9 years was rediculous. Some people thgought that an anti-nuclear missile shield was rediculous.
Bush did not enforce this law that was passed by the Congress when he was President. Obama certainly never will.
It very clearly could be done...and it should be done. And then they could and should use the National Guard to patrol it.

I don’t think that it’s ridiculous. it would be a great place to dump garbage, radioactive waste, all kinds of junk to build a wall. It would make a lot of jobs. Put the illegals that are caught to work building it (at no pay). Then send them back home after a couple of years working on the wall. Maybe give them 100 bucks after you drop them off on the other side of the border.
Don’t they say they come here to work?

There are plenty of videos of illegals hopping over walls on the Mexican boarder.
We don’t need a wall, mine field or anything to keep illegals out who are just coming here to live and work. All we need to do is cut them off from all social programs.
No schools for their kids, no medical, no food stamps, no housing allotments, no free stuff. No employment. They will head back to Mexico in a heartbeat.
Hold employers responsible to hire only legal immigrants and American citizens.
The walls are no good in and of themselves if they are not watched by people.
We need tougher enforcement of drug traffickers and terrorists though and for that you need more than cutting off social programs. You need armed troops on the boarder.
As we draw down from Afghanistan and Iraq, put these men and women on the boarders until the amount of attempts to cross are cut back. Then we can draw down on the boarder as well.

You got strategic fencing in some of the metropolitan areas its very helpful, the Texas governor said. But the idea that youre going to build a wall from Brownsville to El Paso is just — its ridiculous on its face.
What would be ridiculous on its face, Mr. Perry, is if we elected another weak-kneed, open-door policy, stealth amnesty president.
Thanks, but no thanks.
