Texas Gov. Rick Perry may have forgotten a thing or two about the Al Gore presidential campaign he helped lead in 1988.
In an interview with an Iowa radio station on Monday, the Republican presidential contender explained his role as the Gore campaigns Texas chairman by saying that this was Al Gore before he invented the Internet and got to be Mr. Global Warming.

Uh, have they paid attention to Gov. Perry’s assault on the EPA?
The Rhinestone RINO!
LoL, and Ronald Reagan was a supporter of FDR at one time. So what?
In 1988 the ozone hole was the issue of the day, not global warming. This was also during the time algore was playing to the right. Remember all the RIAA decency hearings? Since then he has taken on the epa and gorebull full force.
Oh, please, Perry doesn’t get off that easy. Gore was always an enviro crusader and a liberal. Perry knew what he was and supported him, plain and simple.
I don’t think you can really call it flip flopping when it was over 20 years ago. I supported The Sex Pistols and Black Flag in 1988.
Do yourself a favor.
Stay the F*** Home on election day.
President Obama thanks you.
Not saying dont go hard on him now. But at the end of the day,
It’s the Kenyan, or our guy.
Bush and Perry are both Rove sock puppets and play good cop vs bad cop to each other but have the same NWO agenda that includes crony capitalism , open borders and more government. Just like Rove trained Bush to throw red meat to conservatives to keep them voting for him while he expanded government , Perry knows the fine art of this trick to.
true. and Bachmann was a Democrat also.
i actually like people who learn from their mistakes,
and can admit it, like Bachmann and Reagan.
if Perry did the same, i’d give him the same respect.
...but to try to imply that Gore wasn’t a leftist progressive nutjob even back in 1988 ? not honest.
sure, maybe Gore’s worse since then. but, he was still a liberal nut in bed with the Chinese communists.
...or gal.
So is Perry Romney in a cowboy hat? Who needs the bigger pass?
An article from Politico. I am sure it is fair. /sarc
I find it amazing conservatives on FR are now going to the Nation and Politico for hit pieces on Perry.
Looks like I will face another election cycle where I can’t vote FOR my side. Perry and Romney are the ones the RINO machines want to install.
I will vote AGAINST 0bama, but I can’t see championing a pro-illegal with a history of “crossing the aisle”.
First off, nobody knew anything about global warming at the time. Whether it was true or false. Whether any shenanigans had queered the data. What Al Gore proposed to do about global warming. It was only after he lost against Bush, pushed through these cockamamie (and corrupt) schemes - which benefited him personally - that global warming became an issue of concern to conservatives. Prior to Al Gore’s post 2000 push for federal legislation, global warming was a non-issue among conservatives.
America can’t afford another charlatan who is soft on illegal immigration. As far as I can tell, that’s Rick Perry. He’s got lots of ‘splainin’ to do. If he can’t do it satisfactorily, and he’s the phony that I suspect he is, his election won’t make much difference. Is he as bad as the Kenyan Punk? No, but we need someone who is a great Constitutional leader at this moment. Bob
