Michele Bachmann's own mother ratted her out for skipping a family reunion - which the Tea Party darling blamed for making her late to an event in Iowa Sunday night.
Bachmann's mom, Jean Amble, and her two cousins told Politico Monday that the Minnesota congresswoman never showed up at the reunion, though hubby Marcus Bachmann and the couple's children did.
Yet when the candidate arrived late to the Black Hawk County Republican Party dinner Sunday night, she told Radio Iowa that she was late because "I had a family reunion north of Waterloo today," Reuters reported.
Texas Governor Rick Perry was also at the event, Reuters said.
Bachmann had repeatedly talked about the family reunion throughout the weekend, Politico pointed out.
On Fox News Sunday she told host Chris Wallace that she was looking forward to seeing her family.
"We're having a big family reunion today in northeastern Iowa so I'll get to go and see all my relatives," she said.
The Des Moines Register also reported that Bachmann had spoken excitedly about attending the reunion - and noted her spokeswoman echoed the sentiment as well.
"Michele got so see family members in town and went to see a shut-in while in Waterloo," campaign spokeswoman Alice Stewart told the newspaper.
The Register also reported that "Iowans - and reporters - have started to take note of Bachmann's late arrivals."
This is not good for Bachmann. The late night comedians are having a feeding frenzy with her and they will persuade public perception about her with the young college crowd who stay up late.
They are terrified of Michele Bachmann.
When did the media whine about Bill Clinton’s late arrivals as POTUS? And what about the Naked Emperor Dear Leader 0bama? He’s late all the freakin’ time - they’re not whining about that... bunch of arse portals.
I don't know if I would agree with you there.
I don't think, however, that her "executive" experience as a governor is any indication of how good a president she would be. The same would apply to Romney and Perry.
No, the Catholic Church. I learned in Catholic school that to deliberately mislead is the same as lying.
This coming from a NY rag who had to colorize to get someone interested in buying it on the newstand.
“Lost a lot of voters with that one.”
Yes, that is really important. One should not vote for anyone who gets Elvis’ birthday wrong. LOL. I guess you voted for such silly thins as “hope” and “change” in the last election as well.
buy a sense of humor!
“buy a sense of humor!”
LOL. It’s hard to tell on this board with all the anti-Bachman comments.
I knew it would happen but this is getting tiresome. The lazy, left-wing media who REFUSED to perform due diligence and vet that anti-American, anti-Christian ... human that occupies the Presidency is going to Palin every GOP candidate to cover for that Hope & Change FAILURE they sold to America as the greatest thing since Jesus Christ. Every GOP candidate needs to be on their P’s and Q’s, pointing out to the American people 0bamao’s EPIC FAILS while minimizing any flubs the Lamestream Media will use to make them look like fools.
If she didn’t go to the family reunion, just say so. Frankly, I could care less. Where does Michelle Bachmann stand on the economy, illegal aliens invading our country, out of control government spending, burdensome regulations, etc.? Is she going to play nice-nice with The 0 or is she going to “take no prisoners” and call this loser out on his failed policies? These are some of the things that matter to me, not whether or not she got Elvis’ birthday right, about which I could care less.
We have the same family!
What about the 23 foster children? Did they attend?
