US election 2012: Michele Bachmann snubs Rick Perry at Iowa Republican dinner
Michele Bachmann has angered some Republicans in Iowa by snubbing Governor Rick Perry of Texas, her new White House rival, at a party dinner, insisting on her own lighting and entering the hall "like she was Madonna".

What the heck doughy, you so impressed with your own post 74 you have to re-link the stupid thing repeatedly. Sounds soooo du-ie.
” Illegals who graduated from Texas high schools would pay the same tuition as other Texas residents. They would NOT get a discount.”
LMAO!!
They have no right to even BE here!
Exactly right. That’s discount one.
Then you have to note that out of state citizens would have to pay a higher fee, but out of nation non-citizens wouldn’t.
No discount? I grow weary of these bastardizations of the English language. Hell this isn’t even a bastardization. It’s first degree murder of the English language.
No. No habla englaise.
HOWEVER, this is enough to make me change my opinion:
1. Perry has an A+ rating from the National Rifle AssociationOkay. My mind's open.2. Perry signed castle doctrine legislation, enhancing a persons legal right to use deadly force in self defense against an intruder within ones place of residence.
If Perry's not a RINO or a Bush clone--I'm all for him.
Thanks, Arec!
(BTW--you're not Kim Basinger's ex-husband in cognito, are you?)
I'll stop making crap up about Perry!
(You Texas people don't fool around!)
All right! All right! I'll stop saying ridiculous things!
No. I will NOT sit out the election. I'll vote for Donald Duck if he'll kick the Democrats out of office!
But you gotta admit--George Bush is enough to make us all gun shy. I was one of his biggest supporters--nominated him for Mt. Rushmore--contributed to his campaign--voted for him! And he betrayed his base support, his country, the Presidency, the people's trust!
Okay I'm open to Perry on the strength of what you and Arec say, but I'm very gun shy, and I'm going to scrutinize ALL of these candidates VERY CAREFULLY. Everybody should!
But don’t overlook Herman Cain. Every time he opens his mouth he gives me another reason to vote for him.
The first word in the sentence was “ ILLEGAL “ why go further ?
Because I’m a glutton for punishment? = ;^)
It looks like the establishment will get their way again. Both their guys are ahead according to this.
But in 1980 Reagan was losing to Bush in the polls until the second debate when he told the moderator Im paying for this microphone.” In fact Reagan even lost to Bush in the Iowa caucuses. He then campaigned for something like 21 or 22 days straight in New Hampshire not gaining much ground until that second debate. He won in New Hampshire and was never behind again until he got the nomination and from the week after the convention until the Sunday before the election the polls had him losing to Carter.
So, there is still hope that we can get a conservative nominee instead of one of the establishments picks. We just have to work harder than they do.
Aren’t we all : )
Did I say they did have a right to be here? Did I?
No I didn't. So stick to the subject.
It IS the subject. They are criminal trespassers who should be either deported, or put in jail!!
NOT taking an Americans spot at a college.
Evidently...
NO it was NOT the subject. Whether illegals have a right to be here or not had nothing to do with the subject to which I posted a reply. The subject was instate illegals getting a "discount" in tuition. I was addressing that and ONLY that.
Evidently, you have an I.Q. problem. The discussion cannot proceed when an a priori fact, renders the whole discussion spurious.
Have a nice day.
Texan, it seems to me you’re arguing along the lines, that if you brought a case to court to sue a man for defrauding you for selling you a car that was flawed, it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t own the car, and the actual owner had been the person that sold it to you.
People who are here against the laws of our nation, are being gifted with monetary relief, when it’s not the state’s money to give. It’s yours and mine, and the players are people who are in in the midst of committing a crime by even being here.
Try going into court and pleading a case against another person who defrauded you, when you are known by the court to have committed a crime in relation to the same transaction. The case will get thrown out.
This in-state tuition should be denied.
Thank you!
I'm not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of illegals being allowed to go to college.
I'm not arguing whether they have a right to be here or not.
None of that!
I simply responded to a post which said illegals are given a "discount" on in-state tuition.
The "discount on tuition" is the ONLY subject I was addressing. That and NOTHING else.
Please go back and read my original post.
Foreign (non-U.S.) students who are not lawfully present permanent residents are not entitled to in-state tuition rates. They are entitled to out-of-state tuition rates.
If you give illegal aliens in-state tuition rates, you privilege them over foreign nationals who come to the U.S. and become permanent residents, as well as out-of-state U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
That's called a discount - a discount for violating U.S. law!
Because I didn't rant and rave about illegals ruining the country, taking spaces at college so Americans can't get in blah, blah blah, you automatically assumed I'm for open borders, free tuition to all illegals and God knows what else. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I'm sick of all you haters (of all stripes) here on FR who just like to pick fights. You and your kind are ruining the forum.
