Reid: Tea Party will fade away in time By Michael O'Brien - 08/14/11 11:39 AM ET

The days of the Tea Party's influence on American politics are numbered, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said this weekend.

The Senate's top Democrat told a home state newspaper that he expects the conservative activist moment's grasp on the GOP to diminish, a bold prediction given the influence that group showed Saturday in Ames, Iowa, where Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), a Tea Party darling, won an influential presidential straw poll.

"The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy … I've said that many times, and I believe that," Reid told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an interview published Sunday.

"That [the Tea Party] will pass. They will lose a number of seats next year," he said.

The only way the Tea Party will “fade away” is when it’s no longer necessary to keep politicians on the straight and narrow.

It’s because of self-absorbed, career politicians like Reid that the Tea Party came to be in the first place.

A servant of the people? Don’t make me laugh, Harry.

So long as there are liberal Democrats trying to pick the pockets of Americans to pay for an ever expanding government, there will be a Tea party. So, there will always be a Tea party.

The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy

There's no way that the 8 months of Republican control of the House could be showing results right now.

Harry Reid is trying to blame the Obama/Reid/Pelosi economy on the 8 months of Republican control in the House.

Obama and his party had a SUPER MAJORITY for the first two years of his administration. They still have the Senate. Let's hope we win it BIG in Nov. 2012.

Sorry Stinky! Americans will be around long after you’re pushin’ up daisies. There are too many of us who still care about this country. We’re not going to “fade away”. Never!

"The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy "

No hairy, the TEA Party revved up as a direct result of The Dicktater going to war against the American Economy.

The Tea Party is the result of bad economics and bad politics. Progressive democrats will fade away as the Tea Partygrows in strength. TP is founded on basic Constitutional principles of limited government and personal freedom. Until the Constitution fades away the Tea Party will remain. The eradication of Constitutional government is Reid’s fervent hope.

“Reid: Tea Party will fade away in time.”

####

Well Dingy Commie wimp, we won’t even think about it until:

- Government at all levels is reduced by at least 50%.

- Term Limits are the law of the land, ending the plague of career politicians.

- The Federal Reserve is abolished.

- Tax rates are slashed across the board, including the outright elimination of some forms of taxation.
