I beg to differ, on the authority of Herman Cain, who said that T-Paw was one of the nicest of the candidates, and that he wished him well.

Look, I'm not here to take Cain to task.  He'll have to be responsible for his own comments in light of what Pawlenty did.  Whether he made this comment subsequent to Pawlenty's attack on Bachmann or not, I would have to differ.  Granted that I know very little about Pawlenty, but I thought this revealed a real lapse in his grasp of what Bachmann and other actual "Conservatives" have been up against in Congress.

His over the top comment that she should stop trying to support Conservative causes because she was supposedly killing Conservatives, simply destroyed him for me.  I have witnessed far too many people supposedly on our side of the isle try to destroy our own, to countenance another one of them doing it, and then support them after that.

This wreaks of the same sort of stench created by John McCain when he trashes Tea Party members or Conservatives.  I can't support a guy with that little character, grasp of reality, or sense of loyalty to fellow travelers.

I'm not trying to be critical of you or Cain here.  You're a good guy and I have a lot of respect for Cain.

I saw T-Paw at the Right Online conference in Minneapolis recently, and you can tell he needs severe testosterone injections. His attacks on Bachmann were a desperate attempt to gain traction: he was a decent gov (backed down the then-DFL-controlled legislature on taxes) though a squish on environmental issues; and, his true Achilles' heel, as exciting as watching paint dry.

I think we both agree on parts of this, and I'm not informed enough to comment on the other areas.  If you say he was a decent enough governor, I'll take your word for it.  It does sound like he had his problems, but I won't try to make hay off that.  He may have had some bright sports too.  I don't want to try to characterize him further.

Cheers!

Cheers to you too.  I appreciate you bringing some other information and thoughts to the topic.

I agree with you that his attack on Bachmann during the debate ruined his chances with me: as the legendary Mrs. Whiskers said, "You don't pick on the girl. Pick on the press like Newt did, or go after Romney or go after Obama. But you're fellow Minnesotans, from the same party. Don't attack each other. Say that you like what she's done but you think you're better."

Which is why I think it was his equivalent of a ball-on-your-own-six-yard-line-no-timeouts-left-fourth-and-twenty-three-with-five-seconds-left Hail Mary pass.

When it not only gave no boost, but boomeranged, he *had* to drop out.

Cheers!

I didn’t like Pawlenty’s attempt to blame Bachmann for congressional failures as if she had more than one vote. She fought hard and did what she could.
