1 pm EDT -- moments from now -- awaiting Perry speech announcing he is officially running for president
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
A lot of "who attacks who" is based on VP aspirations. For example, no way is a ticket going to have two politicians from the same state and so Pawlenty feels free to go after Bachmann. Make no mistake, half the people who enter the Presidential sweepstakes do so to get a shot at VP.
Look for candidates who would - - geographically and temperamentally - - make good ticket pairings to mostly leave each other alone. We will soon see if Perry thinks Mittens is the front runner and wants a shot at being his running mate. Of course, if Palin jumps in (I am positive she will) we will get to see some interesting dynamics there, too. Some candidates are "all in" - - President or bust, ie., not at all interested in a VP role. Such candidates would include Mittens and Palin only, as far as I can tell. Of all the candidates it will be most interesting - - and telling - - to see what Perry does.
'Palin / Perry' does have a nice ring to it.
Absolutely EXACTLY what I thought too. He sounded like Reagan with all the upbeat, optimism. I know there are already things I don’t like about him from what I’ve read, but I gotta give it to him with that speech! Now, if he would stop dropping all the “g’s” from the end of words, I’d like him alot! LOL
Can you post a link to where CAIR supports Perry?
It was a live report on Fox news. IF it is up, I will find it FOR you. But do NOT call me a liar. All the way up to that very second, I was still considering Rick Perry as an alternative. When I turned on the TV to watch his announcement, wham!
Perry has a history with muslims...a LONG one, just like bush. Maybe you should enlighten yourself.
He did not say that!! Why do you lie like that?
LOL
I was born in east texas and every one of my relatives there pronounce “tire” as “tar”.
The message is simple, Perry concluded, educacion es el futuro, y si se puede.
Source?
(Who are you wanting to vote for at this point?)
Where do you hang your hat?
CAIR supports Obama:
CAIR Happy With Obama Speech
http://globalmbreport.org/?p=4478
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has issued a statement on U.S. PResident Obamaâs mideast policy speech, saying it set âthe right toneâ referring only to the Presidentâs comments on Mideast developments in general but not on his comments about the Israel-Palestinian conflict. According to the statement:
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 5/19/11) â The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today said that President Obamaâs speech this afternoon on the âArab Springâ freedom movements in the Middle East and North Africa sets the right tone but needs to be translated into policies and actions.
In a statement, CAIRâs Awad said:
âWe appreciate President Obama setting the right tone by applauding the recent freedom movements across the Middle East and North Africa, but the true test of our nationâs commitment to freedom and human dignity will be in translating this speech into actions and concrete policies. âIt is significant for the president of the United States to support the massive popular demonstrations for freedom and self-determination in the region, particularly since our country has supported some of the dictators who have been and are oppressing their people. âThe president made the important point that all people deserve human dignity and self-determination, and we support his intention to defend those universal rights.ââ
“I am very interested to see if and how Perry is going to go after Mittens. No one at the debate was hitting that fool. I really hope Perry does.”
Yeah I hope he takes out Romney...that would be great. But then I would like to see either Bachmann or Palin (either are OK by me) to go on and win the primary. At this point, my “gut” says not to back Perry.
It's going to remain bad until Palin jumps in or sits out. She's playing a very savvy game thus far, and keeping her enemies guessing like Sun Tzu with a Twitter feed. That said, Perry has taken an interesting strategic move. He's going to play to the big GOP donors that aren't loving the current field. They couldn't get Daniels or Christie. They despise Palin viscerally, and realize that Romney has hit his ceiling and will not rise any further.
In other words, Palin is all Tea Party outsider, and Romney is all GOP High Command insider, and there is precious little overlap.
Perry's a very powerful contender because of that dilemma. If he can bridge the gap between the Tea Party crowd and the GOP establishment, he can basically hold the strategic high ground that no one else has been able to occupy. Palin's legions or Romney's millions are massive advantages, but both sides were waiting for the other to fall, and claim the other's resources by default.
Now, the Tea Party doesn't have to hold their nose and vote for Romney, and the GOP power players don't have to swallow their bile and support Palin. Perry's positioned to siphon strength from both sides.
**Now, if he would stop dropping all the gs from the end of words, Id like him alot!**
That’s the way we talk down here. You don’t want him to sound fake, do you? Pretty soon we’re gonna get fed up with you yankees and your comments about our speech and say something you’ll regret.
Ahm getin tarred, Ahm fixin ta lay down on a pallate.
Known him for awhile. One of my brothers knew him in college. I think he’s a slimy politican even if I’m an Aggie. He tried to get gaurdisil to be mandatory, he’s for the Trans-Texas corridor, and he messes with A&M.
He’s only maintained the status quo on taxes in Texas, and I think most governors would have done the same. It’s more of a Texas thing then a Perry thing.
What do you not like about FL?
On the national news last week, they actually did the Sarah Palin is a grandma, again story, adding, "only three months after the couple was married."
They've never stopped attacking Sarah's family. Look at the attention paid to Bush's daughters by the media. There really is a scorched earth policy by the Left.
I’ll supply a current link that shows CAIR doesn’t support Perry.
Youre right. That is exactly the ONE issue that will determine the winner. JOBS. The other issues are important, yes, but all take a back seat to employment. Millions and millions of unemployed in every damn state except North Dakota is sickening. Something has to be done and it will take someone with balls of steel.

“Obama will have to stand next to a real “made in America” man for comparison”
The comparison isn’t going to be Perry/Obama. It’s going to be Bush & Perry. Get ready for 24/7 drivel from the MSM/Obama campaign that Perry is Bush 2.0. We will not buy it but a lot of dim bulb moderates will.
