Michele Bachmann
Bachmann is serving her 3rd full term in the U.S. House. Founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, she earned a Master of Laws degree, worked as a tax attorney, and was a foster mother for 23 teenagers. She is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.
Newt Gingrich
Gingrich served as the 58th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999. He has a PhD in modern European history.
Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. He’s an obstetrician-gynecologist and was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Tim Pawlenty
Pawlenty served two terms as governor of Minnesota, from 2002 to 2010. He served in the Minnesota House from 1992 until 2002. He is the son of a truck driver.
Mitt Romney
Romney was the 70th Governor of Massachusetts (2003 to 2007) and former CEO of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican 2008 nomination for president. He has an MBA (Harvard) and JD (Harvard Law).
Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.
Jon Huntsman
Huntsman was Utah Governor, former ambassador to China under Barack Obama.

I’d like to count on that, but in today’s crazy climate, I just don’t know anymore. Who’d ever dream we’d have a legally disqualified Marxist, Muslim, radical, America-hating traitor as CIC?
My order:
1. Newt (Fantastic. Unquestionably back in the top tier!)
2. Santorum (Solid answers!)
3. Cain (Getting better)
4. Bachmann (Good... should avoid fights w/ TPaw)
5. Romney (Fairly solid, but so desparate to be president)
6. Paul (Sometimes great, but too often crazy)
7. Pawlenty (Pack it up and go home)
8. Huntsman (Horrible, overly scripted)
Please explain how Ron Paul ignited the fire that led to rise of the Tea Party. It's a bottom-up, grassroots movement, created by the people and for the people.
Get off your arse. Go to a Tea Party meeting. Learn for yourself.
I've been to area Tea Party events and participated in such meetings. Sure, I've found a few who admire Ron Paul but there's not the fervor for him as there is for Sarah Palin or Herman Cain.
As for who (or what) was the spark for the Tea Party rebellion, I think this thread covers that topic: Who Started the Tea Party Movement?. There are a couple of enlightening posts by Jim Robinson and I don't see him crediting Ron Paul as the one who ignited the movement.

Newt delivered some of the best lines tonight. Tpaw & Huntsman are toast, Tpaw has not had an ounce of fighting spirit, Huntman’s pure comedian, making faces and looking amateur on stage. The rest of the lineup is completely forgettable.
Obama’s laughing tonight, we need to do much better than this pathetic lineup of candidates!

I was in Iran in ‘78 with plans to work/live there for a couple of years (w/Bell Helicopter). We were building a town and helicopter plant/training facility near Esfahan in a joint venture with the Shah. Then, thanks to Carter, everything turned to s**t overnight. Well, you know as well.
Since ‘79, Iran’s been a growing, dangerous nightmare with leaders in charge who are as crazy as Ron Paul.
He doesn’t know the first thing about Iran, the Middle East or radical Islam. He thinks if we’d just “mind our own business and play nice”, then they’ll leave us alone.
Very dangerous, ignorant man on security and foreign policy.

You have to consider as Newt said...we are 15 months out. For us here on FR that is one thing but to regular voters that’s an eternity.
Palin gets everything she says covered now and people are listening moreso than ever. Announcing now won’t really change that. The later she announces, the greater her impact. Also the less time MSMLIBGOPDEMs have to plot strategy. Right now they are off balance and don’t know which way to jump.
She can be every bit as effective unannounced as announced for a while yet. I truly believe she’s a Student of Sun Tzu and has a military strategist working for her.
Consider everything she has done, especially recently like with her post crash analysis/statement. People listened because it made sense, not because she ‘might’ run. And consider that she could give the Gettysburg address of the modern era but until she’s elected, candidate or no, they are just words with the power to influence, but without ‘power’ in the in-office sense.
Also, I believe that by waiting, she is building up an arsenal of policy positions that don’t ‘publicly’ change with every new event unfolding. When she DOES get in, several candidates will have reacted and re reacted to events (flip flops) strengthening her hand further. Her position will be solid and not seen as ‘fluid’ by comparison, if you get my meaning.
Lastly, when she pulls it together and gets in, she will have a dominant upper hand sans the baggage of these virtually meaningless (15 months out) debates, changed/reacted to positions etc. All of this goes to her ability to win the nomination, presidency and work to help us all. But to get there, she HAS to be smart NOW.
IMO, FWIW.
I agree Ron Paul’s passe stance on Iran is very dangerous. The folks in power there want to start a war with Israel. Very stupid to say well if they want nukes its none of our buisness. Some of his issues are ok and conservative some are fking crazy and dangerous to our security. He should never be president. I like Bachmann so far.

Well, if we are talking about fervor, then that is another subject. At least you had the courage to admit “a few” admire Ron Paul. But if you were honest, you would admit there were a little more than a few.
That said, when it comes to fever, I am on fire for Sarah. I hope she will run. Since she is my number 1 choice. Cain? I am still listing, waiting on Sarah to decide. But, if she chooses not to run, then, I will likely support Cain. Either way, not Ron Paul. Although I am a proponent of many of his principles, as stated. Just not all of them. Some of which are unfathomable.

Well, with BHO as our prez, Israel will have to go it alone. They’ll also need permission to fly over Iraqi air space, and they’ll only have one shot at this or they’re toast. Even if they succeed in wounding the animal, they may end up toast anyway. And either way, we’ll get involved.
It’s a very, very scary situation and I just don’t see why all the countries who SAY they don’t want a nuclear Iran won’t join together in imposing real, meaningful sanctions that would cripple Iran economically. Don’t they understand Iran with nukes is a threat to the entire middle east and Europe as well???

That matter aside, our discussion was worthwhile and I appreciate your thoughts. Since you're "on fire for Sarah" as am I, we can probably call it a night. We share the same crucial goal of replacing the current _resident with a true American patriot come January 2013.

Correct - with Saddam Hussein’s blessing. Don’t know why no one ever seems to mention that every time the Left (or nuts like Paul) repeat the mantra “Iraq didn’t have anything to do with 9/11”.
I don’t understand either. Even Bush failed to use this argument as well. Even after these training camps were found (which was near the beginning of the invasion) he continued to use the WMD threat.
Al Qaeda training camps trump all the other excuses.
where on FNC have you been watching the panel? I’d have loved to hear all of them, but wasn’t watching the debate online so didn’t know where to go for after comments.
