While Texas Gov. Rick Perry has made no formal announcement, he told Time magazine in an interview he wants to run for president.
"I mean I wouldn't be this far into the process. The issue of, 'is this what I want to do?' was dealt with about 45 days ago in a conversation with my wife," Perry said. "Prior to that, no.
Being the president of the United States was not on my radar screen from the standpoint of something I wanted to do."
Perry added he has a "calmness" in his heart about running.
(see below for supposed confirmation)

This should read
He's a social liberal / fiscal moderate who realized too late that, when push comes to shove, it's the fiscal moderation that gets thrown aside, not the social liberalism. Social liberalism is too politically sensitive for most Californians to abandon, the costs be damned.
That's why I asked.
Some folks around here throw the term "RINO" around so much that it is virtually meaningless. It basically describes anyone who does, or has ever done anything that they don't personally like.
(And most of them aren't even Republicans, so their understanding of the party is highly dubious).
Thanks. I'll wait for an answer to the question from the accuser, should it ever come....
Voting for McCainiac made me nauseous and I plan to write in my vote if the RINOs run O'Romney. I think Perry is a more than acceptable choice. The Hispanic numbers in this country are right up with, if not surpassing, the Blacks and most of them ARE Conservative, too. Perry is also solidly pro-life which is a BIGGIE to me. I will even send money to his PAC - something I have never done before.
In size Oklahoma is a mere suburb of Texas.
Simpleton. Comparing the economy, politics and problem solving of these two states is truly the product of a simpleton.
Not really sure about that, you can drop most of New England into Oklahoma. That being said.....support whoever you wish, I'm going with a winner. Your mileage may very. Good luck.
Hey ScreaminFist,
We are working on it but Perry is trashing our efforts. Our cops keep getting shot up here what with Perry’s buddies labor force.
Come visit me sometime at www.stopthemagnet.com
NOW...what are YOU DOIN other than HOLDING POM-POMs for PERRY?
Well....duh! Perhaps governors of TEXAS tend to be looked on as leaders......for a reason.
I'd never call a fellow true conservative a simpleton...
"Comparing the economy, politics and problem solving of these two states is truly the product of a simpleton."
Really? Are you really down dog serious here????
Errrr, because until either Palin or Perry get into the fight obama is going to win? I swear to God, IQ's on this site have dropped in half in 10 years.....
Ah, that’s just the Texan in him.
While I don't agree with the Mayor on much..and I think the Judge was wrong, and I also think "RED LIGHT CAMERA'S are illegal....the Mayor did the legally right thing...here.
If you want to beat up YOUR stupid Mayor have at it....but in this issue she seems to be right.
In full agreement.
He’s my choice.
He’s the only one with the record of jobs and economic growth- and is TOUGH enough to kick the Marxist/Muslim’s
a$$ out of our White House!
Agree 100% with you.
I wish he would pick West, too.
Afraid he won’t though.
The measure was not illegal and she turned them back on. What I don’t understand is how she saved the city 16 million when they were already costing us more than they are worth when they are turned on? Was there a penalty in the contract?
Please enlighten me. Seriously.
It is between Palin, Perry, and Bachmann.
They have different strengths.
I really haven’t heard anything from Palin about running that you can sink your teeth into.
Perry dropped huge hints; Palin hasn’t so much.
I will be able to support pro-life, pro-prayer Perry.
Get over yourself. You are mad, because I don’t support Perry. He doesn’t do anything. He’s in a position where he doesn’t do anything and can come out smelling like a rose.
In this case yes. I am just pointing out which became very clear we need to elect our own candidates; not the establishment candidates and if you disagree; so be it.
LOL And some of them don’t even show up.
