While Texas Gov. Rick Perry has made no formal announcement, he told Time magazine in an interview he wants to run for president.
"I mean I wouldn't be this far into the process. The issue of, 'is this what I want to do?' was dealt with about 45 days ago in a conversation with my wife," Perry said. "Prior to that, no.
Being the president of the United States was not on my radar screen from the standpoint of something I wanted to do."
Perry added he has a "calmness" in his heart about running.

lol...you’re preaching to blacks that race ain’t important..it is to them...and not for no reason
but at the same time you’re touting the race of your VPs
so which is it?
FReepers really do not get black culture.
Me?...7th generation Mississippian...I got it...are you native Carolinian or from up north...you say limited insight into black community...most native Piedmont folks know blacks fairly well...it’s not like there aren’t any around
..I know I am a newbie
in reality there is only one serious VP nominee...Marco Rubio brings Florida likely with it’s 27 electoral votes...which might be lost otherwise.
Cain ..who is a social conservative..brings nothing besides that and West is a bit unusual...I would not want him as my VP...some things about him I like and some seem wacky...and he could not bring FL like Rubio can..he is too inflammatory..which we zot beholden types may like but which most folks don’t...especially wimmin folk

“He has my vote!”
“Same here. Best bet to beat Obama.”
Agreed. As much as I like Palin, she would be a mistake as a choice for VP. It would muddy the waters too much. Too many people don’t like her. We need to beat Obama, Palin on the ticket would make it too risky.
Conservatives getting excited about Perry. Should he win. Look forward to the following:
Diversity policies
Souter-like SCOTUS nominations
“Comprehensive Immigration Reform” PUSH by Chamber of Commerce and signed by Perry
Keep cheering but do not say you were not warned!
” Diversity policies

I hope all of these Perryites can speak spanish....
Perry will clean up in the fundraising category - a lot of money ready to get behind someone who looks like a winner.
When have we picked the ones that simple could win!? McCain and Dole weren’t exactly winners....Bush 1 and 2...were just a part of a dynasty.
If you’re talking about Palin et al....well, we have to concern ourselves about indies...will we get a slice from their votes and ultimately will that candidate get us court justices...? I’m sure everyone here will support her if she runs, but to pick the conservatives under her, is just a dumb idea...they have no name and no chance. That’s just the truth.
Reagan was always a winner...big state and well spoken individual.
And NO, Arnold is different. As far as governors go, all governors will appear more moderate than any other politician, as they run a state...not a party.
As I;ve thought for some time now, it’ll be Perry/Palin, if she decides to run.
Anyone notice how Romney is gettin’ all strong-sounding lately, especially the last day or so> It’s so uncharacteristic, I don’t know whether it’s a necessary act, or the ridiculous heckling he’s getting are just turning him “rightward”——either eay, it’s good for him,
and will make him, should he continue. ALMOST acceptable to “Conservatives” (IOW, CINOs) if no one else makes a strong enough showing. NOW Perry, when he starts mixing it up with the others, is bound to have more of a fight on his hands for the nomination.
You almost have it there, we are going to move the border to the Red, then annex Mexico, export labor to the rest of the country.
My dream ticket!!! Perry/Rubio What great Americans!
good one. Check out vid on TX-Ruling-Class Immigration Enforcement Blocking. 82nd lege:

Arnold for one. I also meant when we actually choose our own people instead of letting the establishment do it for us.
Thanks
I’ve never donated to a presidential candidate before. I will make an exception for Perry.
I actually am brushing up on my Spanish so I can work the polls in alien hoods. These are some of the dependents of Perry’s buddies work crews.
I agree with regarding Palin as she is the closest to conservative as we can get and it’s a waste of time and money for the others unless they are backed by the establishment. Time to break that cycle.
I disagree about Arnold. He had so many red flags. Member of the Kennedy family was one.
