While Texas Gov. Rick Perry has made no formal announcement, he told Time magazine in an interview he wants to run for president.
"I mean I wouldn't be this far into the process. The issue of, 'is this what I want to do?' was dealt with about 45 days ago in a conversation with my wife," Perry said. "Prior to that, no.
Being the president of the United States was not on my radar screen from the standpoint of something I wanted to do."
Perry added he has a "calmness" in his heart about running.

I think Perry would be another person that will pick good SCOTUS candidates for us like Bush did since I think he would know how to avoid another person that votes the wrong way surprisingly.
I am 90 percent sure that a liberal on the court will either die or retire during the next president’s term, whomever that is.
It’s going to happen. I do not want Obama picking that replacement.
Pretty soon, we will need to replace conservatives as well.
That is why we must take over the Senate as well.
“What you said is very understandable. I was not saying that you were calling him a RINO though. I meant that in a broad sense.”
Gotcha. I am open to Perry. I hope your assessment is accurate.
LOL ..
Welcome .. ;)
LOL! Don't think so. Adding sweet water to bitter is still bitter. All the sweet water in the world still won't get the stink off of Perry. And I'm not holding my nose to vote for another stinking RINO this time.
Good grief it looks like they want to lock lips! LOL!!! Lean in just a little bit closer and do a little peck on the lips! Gross! LOL!!!
He was a Conservative Democrat during his past, which is traditional for Texas politics. It was mainly after Carter that the Texas Conservative Democrats started turning towards the GOP. Reagan also played a very strong role and influenced many of them into changing parties.
I hope not too. To me she is the Anti-globalist. A symbol for working-class Americans who have been completely abandoned by the R-party. Her ads speak about the Americans. Meanwhile Perry is out Hispandeeering at various Latino events. I HOPE TO GOD SHE RUNS.
Perry kind of feels like Romney/McCain Redux.
I mean early on Romney and McCain seemed ok,too.
Not really the first choice..maybe 5th choice?
Sort of exceptable to the establishment Repuplicans. He’s not really Tea party but he will talk the talk so the tea party will vote for him.
You know anything is better than Obama so here’s your man.
I’m finally getting excited about this next election. Perry is a heck of a lot better choice than O’Romney.
Next “defense” of Captain Gardasil. Not.
This could be the most interesting weekend in a long LONG time. I bet the media is scrambling to get to NH, IA, and Lord knows where else. lol
I would just love to see a photo-op with the Perrys and the Palins together for the opening of Dove Season. In camo and with shotguns. That would put a smile on my face! A smile that would be hard to wipe away, no matter WHAT the Kenyan King did that day!
ABSOLUTELY!
Add to that, the candidates who will be pushed out, who will also more than likely send their support Perry’s way.
This is starting to shape up into something very good!
I think we are a lock for collapse and dissolution or dissolution and collapse at this point. Too much debt, too many stupids, too many reasons to escape the oppressive Washington government.
I am not sure the candidate exists who can fix the nation with the existing structure and population mix.
Your advise to pray is sound advise indeed.
You can say all of that if you wish, but you can also say that Sarah supported John McCain. Certain things you just have to walk around. Like a pile of dog turd and move on.
Perry and Condi Rice .... Now thats a ticket worth working for...
Then I suggest you vote for .... hm... that’s right ... no one more conservative is running (that has a chance in heck of actually winning).
Lets not kid ourselves it’s either going to be Perry or Romney going up against Obama, the rest stand less of a chance than my dog of winning.
So if you want to stay home and pout that a perfect conservative (that’s electable) didn’t decend from heaven and join the race that’s fine. But the rest of us are going to make darn sure that Obama doesn’t get a second term.
