I was splashing around in Lake Michigan last week when the realization hit me like a wave I was wrong about Barack Obama. I should have voted for Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary three years ago.
At the time of the primary, the decision seemed easy. I saw in Obama the same qualities Jack Kerouac saw in Dean Moriarty in "On the Road." He was 'something new, long prophesied, long a-coming."
Hillary was not new. She represented the second act of "Billary," and I had tired of that play long before it ended its eight-year run.
So I voted for Obama in the primary and then again in the general election. I even left the election night party at the Pageant a party with an open bar and filled with state legislators, union guys and other acquaintances to go to the Chase Park Plaza, where the Obama people were celebrating. I knew almost nobody at that second party, but I was there when the networks declared that Obama was the next president. People cried and hugged. I got teary myself. A black president. The times they are a-changing.
Indeed. They keep getting worse.

Same...er, scat, different Dem.
Or.....
"Americans are so smart they just can't understand how utterly stupid you really are."
If Barry has an IQ above 85 I'll eat War and Peace. [page by tedious page] )
(90 is lowest limit for a 'normal' IQ)
O-o-o-o-o-o.....you want ketchup with that?
“President Barack Obama is facing mounting doubts within his own party about his re-election prospects, with fellow Democrats beginning to ask if Hillary Clinton would have made a better president.”
Too bad these retrospective regrets didn’t occur prior to the 2008 election. Bad as he was, I think even McCain could have beaten a Clinton re-tread.
A YELLOW DOG PRESIDENT
But since Barry will never prove he has an IQ of anything, like not even a normal one, I have nothing to worry about.
Applied to the beat generation's books, self-control would mean to me that I choose not to step in a sludge pit of toxic turd. What I've read of that absurdist literature tells me that they intended to destroy our culture and replace it with their own - where their lusts could run free.
I strongly believe that the idea of self-control is intrinsically the foundation of all liberty. To control oneself, rather than be controlled, is to be free. The Reformation profoundly influenced and made possible the American Constitution. John Adams makes the point when he said the real revolution didn't occur in 1776, but in the preceding generations whose character was formed by the preaching of the Gospel. It started in the souls of our ancestor countrymen, and worked around to our body politic.
Back to the beat generation's literature: I know too many people who really admire that stuff. And their character shows it. And just as the souls of men influenced by the Gospel resulted in liberty, so the souls of people today influenced by the ideas of Kerouac - and many many others - are resulting in a loss of liberty. Our political liberty is the public manifestation of individual self-control. Our loss of liberty is the manifestation of the loss of individual self-control.
Here's your sign:
It never fails to amaze me that liberals can't discern the differences between reality and the artificial realm of movies. Do they have no other basis on which to measure a person's abilities than what movie character the person reminds them of?
Of course, that the person only last week regretted voting for Barry says volumes about their lack of intellectual depth. That he would instead vote for Hillary...hopefully his progeny inherited their ability for thought from some wiser ancestor who hadn't yet become movie-bound.
Very good points. Had Hillary won, she would have been much more clever about her Marxism IMO and would probably be on track to win a 2nd term. She was much more tested in politics and could have triangulated like Bill did so successfully.
I also don't think McCain would have been a good President. He is way too squishy for my tastes and although we would not have gotten Obamacare, I think he would have floundered around and had a lousy economy anyway for which we would have been blamed.
It is interesting that the author of this article admits what the problem with O is at the end of the piece: O was never challenged in his life. He was surrounded by people who wanted to see a black kid succeed. IOW: (wait for it...) affirmative action! Bingo. He would never have been elected had his skin been his mother's color instead of his father's.
The good news for us is that he has now had his chance and blown it big time. Had Hillary won, O would still have been waiting in the wings.
Hey bill, you are probably one of the "white guilt" voters, and we tried to warn you idiots.
Sure, Hillary would be a slightly better president, but that’s like saying a horse with only one broken leg will run faster than a horse with two broken legs. Hillary is still a statist. The only thing going for her is she’d have Bill, who actually cut capital gains taxes, scolding her when she was going to do something particular stupid i.e. liberal. “You want to raise taxes in the middle of recession, that sure is a dumb thing to do” he’d say to her while looking up from his “Helen Thomas and Janet Reno Gone Wild” videos.
She is a hardcore leftist who agrees with everything Obama is doing...
...including our involvement in Libya. As Sec. of State she should have spoken up or resigned in protest.
She is as guilty as Obama.
That in a nutshell is the modus operandi of the RINO members of the Party.
Socialism always sounds good, until the flash mob beats the crap out of your kid.
Hillary wouldn’t have gone on an American Apology tour like Obama. I believe that in her heart, she and Bill love America, I don’t think that Obama does.
*sniff* That's poetry right there! *wipes a tear*
I'm SOOO stealing that.
