Most European, as well as the Aussie, NZ and South African police are armed. The British are a minority. Even the Irish are armed as routine.
But let’s not forget that unlike Britian, Americans are ARMED, THANKS to the 2nd Amendment.

My entire family - wife, daughter, and grandkids are in a hotel 30 miles away.
We had some scum trying to torch cars in our street about 4 AM - they ran when they found out we won’t put up with that crap. Every able bodied man in the street gave chase.
To the ones who are talking about guns - I’d love it, but it ain’t gonna happen. Different country, different rules, and one of the reasons I am rather violently anti gun control. Bad enough doing the neighbourhood patrols last night with a sword, but I wasn’t going out unarmed. Not against people many years my junior, and faster.
Better have good security come for next summer, when London hosts the olympics.
