Can you explain to me how far apart these uprisings are? Are these looters a half mile away from each other or are they separated by 10 miles? Just trying to get a handle on the geography and scope of the situation.

This map will help you contextualise the distance in London. In Birmingham all the rioting has been confined to the city centre (or “downtown” in American vernacular)

No idea. I’m sure there probably has been the usual hot air from some radical cleric or other. These riots are entirely unrelated to any pronouncements of Sharia Law or such nonsense that have been taking place recently.

One example I can give you is that the Sikhs and the Muslims are lining the streets of the Soho Road in Birmingham armed with whatever they can get their hands on to protect their businesses. Good on them.
