Kerry Blames The Tea Party For Credit Downgrade
By Ben Wolfgang-The Washington Times1
Sen. John Kerry on Sunday laid the blame for the recent downgrade of the nations credit rating at the feet of conservative House Republicans.
I believe this is, without question, the tea party downgrade, Mr. Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat, said on NBCs Meet the Press.
Standard & Poors rating agency on Friday dropped the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+, questioning the ability of leaders in Washington to deal seriously with the nations debt crisis.
The Obama administrations debt-ceiling proposal, which included more spending cuts than the measure signed into law last week but also contained controversial revenue increases, fell flat after stiff opposition from House Republicans, but Mr. Kerry said that debate is not yet over.
I think this is one of the most telling, important moments in our countrys history
this poses a set of choices, he said, referring to the 2012 elections, when voters will decide between the Obama administrations approach or the path preferred by the GOP-led House.

Bachmann knew all this. She said Obama and friends would blame credit unions and the the tea party on Friday night when Great did breaking news with Michele as guest. It is past time to impeach Obama.

But, they won't because they are pansies led by a crybaby pansy.
Oh no, not more John Kerry rambling on and on about things that make him look more idiotic than he is. Poor guy.
Typical lib. Blame someone else for your own actions.
No Johnny, it’s the OBAMA DOWNGRADE. You and your scumbag colleagues from both sides of the aisle have been raping and pillaging this country, in a manner reminiscent of “Jenjhis” Khan, for decades. Don’t presume to lecture us when your bill finally comes due. We prefer you simply go to hell.
I would like to be as stupid as Kerry and just blame HIM for everything, in like manner to him - just blame your opponents for anything “bad”.
But, then I’d be a Liberal/Progressive/Marxist, so I won’t blame Kerry for the stock market sell-off and the S&P downgrade on U.S. debt.
Instead I’ll blame Obama, in as much as he touted his role as President as the “chief manager of the economy”.
Now, we know Obama is not the “chief manager of the economy” but maybe, just maybe (a guess???) our problem is that Obama has acted as if he did have that role, that he could by just working his executive authority “manage” the economy to health.
And is that not what he has claimed for EVERY SINGLE ONE of his policies? It is.
So, why doesn’t Kerry blame Obama?
He’d be kicked out of the ranks of the Marxist’s useful idiot fellow travelers; where he has resided his entire political life.
... in the back.
If you wonder what is wrong with the Democrat party look at John Kerry.
The man is a traitor, a fiend of Jane Fonda, another traitor.
He got 3 purple hearts in Vietnam, not one of them couldn’;t be covered with a band-aid and one was only a bruise. This allowed him to only stay 3 months. He came home and tossed someone elses medals over a fence and claimed they were his. he met the Viet cong in Paris during the war.
Yet the poeople of Massachusetts still elect him to the Senate, because he gets them money from the US Government.
Democrat party votes are bought and paid for with US Government money.
That is what is wrong with the Democrat party.
Shut up, you useless human being.
Just what I was thinking. There should have been a truckload of gop press releases countering his statement point by point...or maybe the tea party team knows that everyone else knows the blamed liesmainly at the other end of pennsylvania ave.
Can you folks believe these guys? I’ll admit it, I never thought it would become this ridiculous.
The "scare" card has been played far longer that the "race" card. So here we go. BTW, Like Rush says, the left will always advertise who they fear.
Who’s gonna believe John F’n, Ly’n Kerry? His words are meaningless.
Oh, wait, just remembered those Democrat relatives of mine.
The point in the quote, however, is solid. "Cut, Cap & Balance" offered $4T in cuts which is what the ratings agencies asked for. It passed the House under Boehner with a bipartisan vote.
The White House mocked it as "duck, dodge and dismantle" and Reid, Mr. Dead-on-Arrival, wouldn't even allow a debate in the Senate.
Once again the Democrats refuse to accept responsibility for anything. Bad economy? Bush's fault. Failed stimulus? Earthquakes & oil prices. Downgrade? Tea Party's fault.
We should be screaming at the top of our lungs because Obama wanted a CLEAN debt ceiling increase with no offsets period. He wasn't concerned for a nanosecond about the credit rating. Neither was Geithner.
From Para-Ord.45, yesterday comes this quote, which needs to be stated often!
-S&P exec John Chambers,
But $4 trillion would be a good down payment. We thought that..if policy makers could deliver the goods on that, then that would be a strong sign on our political scores and eventually on our projections on the fiscal side.
S&P has already said it may slash the Triple-A rating if a debt ceiling deal is not accompanied by what it deems is a credible plan to cut the $14.3 trillion federal [debt] by $4 trillion.
S&Ps Chambers is saying the ratings agency wants to see at least a $4 trillion deal, one that would come with bipartisan support.
There was only ever one plan that did what S&P said was required $4 trillion in cuts with bipartisan support. Thatd be Cut, Cap, and Balance a plan that cut $4 trillion and got bipartisan support in the House of Representatives.
As Democrats tonight, and some Republicans, lash out and blame the Tea Party for causing the United States to lose its credit rating, it is worth pointing out that only the Tea Party offered up a plan to avoid what happened.-
EXACTLY!
bump
Obviously that didn't poll as well as "TeaParty downgrade."
