China pointed a finger at Pakistan, one of its closest foreign partners, as it blamed one of two deadly attacks over the weekend in the northwestern Xinjiang region on Muslim extremists trained across the Pakistani border.
Police also "executed on the spot" two more suspected attackers in the city of Kashgar, according to a local government statement, while paramilitary police with shotguns and automatic weapons patrolled the streets to prevent further unrest.
Local authorities said 20 people were killed in all in the attacks by knife-wielding members of the Uighur ethnic minority on Saturday and Sunday in the second week of violence to rock Xinjiang.
...an "initial probe" had shown that leaders of Sunday's attack on a restaurant, in which 11 people died, had received explosives and firearms training in Pakistan-based camps of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, also known as ETIM.

China has long accused Uighur groups waging a sporadic, sometimes violent, campaign for independence of being part of ETIM, which it says has links to al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations and has sent people to train and fight in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

China's accusation joins a similar chorus from two of Pakistan's other neighbors, India and Afghanistan, which accuse it of failing to act against militant camps on its soil.

Isn’t Pakistan developing some fighters in partnership with the PRC?
Not a good move on Pakistan’s part.

Didn’t Pakistan used to be one of Red China’s favorite countries in the world? Didn’t they pour aid into it like a bucket?

Is this going to affect China's fighter plane sales to Pakistan, I wonder? Probably not.
I'm waiting for world reaction when China opens a can of whup-ass on the Uighurs.

Thanks La Enchiladita.
Hey, China needs a pretext for its participation in the dismemberment of Pakistan. Not that Pakistan's "government" (snicker) actually governs much of anything.

If China were to do that, it would have to kill thousands of Hui (Muslim Chinese, who have historically sided with the Chinese) who have been settled along with Han Chinese in Chinese-occupied East Turkestan.
ETIM should be eradicated, but this is not just a Muslim-Communist fight. (And if it were, couldn't they both lose?) The People's Republic of China is dominated by the (91%) Han {whether all Han are actually Han is another debate). The Sinicization campaign has led to the settlement of 7 million Han chinese in "Xinjiang". Tibet, Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, Guangxi (homland of the Zhuang ), Yunnan (home to a dozen non-chinese peopes), Ningxia( Hui), etc all face the the same fate. The Uyghurs simply fight back.

A snake is a snake is a snake. Reminds me of a story I read many years ago of someone (a herpetologist I believe) who was trying to ‘train’ a Puff Adder (a very venomous snake of the viper variety found in Africa), and had got to a stage where he could place it on his lap without it biting him. Well, one day the wind blew the curtains in, and it bit him in the finger. Due to its hemotoxic/cytotoxic venom, the finger had to quickly go (fortunately it was just a juvenile and not an adult, since the venom hit from a 6 foot long snake, particularly a Puff Adder, would have been really bad).

I would forgive China of its grossly cheap products of dubious quality if they were to fumigate mass areas of Moslems.

I swear very soon Pakistan will find a way to create some mass attack upon a large nation, and I predict it will be China, not America directly.
Something of a size and magnitude that in essence will close all the Walmart stores as there will be a near zero import from China.
Perhaps a stolen Pak nuke will take out the Three Gorges dam.
