We have them on our place in Texas also. Didn’t really know how many we had since they are fairly nocturnal here, until we put up game cameras. WOW we’ve got a lot!
The article talked about wild boars with pseudorabies virus and that worries me a little bit... How do you know the boar you take is safe to handle (because you’re not supposed to handle the carcass of an animal that had rabies, much less eat it)? Anyway, if that issue could be addressed satisfactorily, you should get yourself a big horizontal freezer and lay down some fabulous meat. Keep it “full up.” You could save tons of money on groceries, assuming you’re not vegetarian. Just sayin’... Cheers!
What are the Texas laws regarding hunting the darn things? I always hear Texas has the worst wild pig problem.
