I was just watching the short morning speeches on C-SPAN when liberal Mr. Cohen from NC (I think), was referring to the fact that conservatives are now opposing the raising of the debt ceiling; but they supported same when Bush was president.
He referenced the scene in "Blazing Saddles", when the citizens of Rock Ridge were asked by the new black sheriff for just 24 more hours to solve the crisis. Denied. Whereupon Sheriff Bart protested, "You'd do it for Randolph Scott." The citizens then showed reverence at the mention of that name, and capitulated.
“Affairs of State, must take precident over the affairs of State.”
And he used authentic frontier gibberish when he said it.
Just from the headline the first scenes that came to mind were:
1. The mounted Indians at the top of the rise, “ugh schvartzers”
2. “Mongo just pawn in game of life”
“Now yer all lolly gaggin’ around like it’s a hunert ‘n’ twenty’’. Can’t be more ‘n’ a hunert and fourteen!’’.
“YOu brute, you brute, you brute!”
“Make seven up yours, negro...”
“Nevermind that sh-t, here comes Mongo!”
I wouldn't. I'd do it for Roy Rogers or John Wayne though.
And here I thought all that hot air coming out of the Senate was from talking (although I’ve always known most of them talk out their foggy bottoms).
Could you give us a good scenario or quote?
“We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!”
I didn’t get a Harrumph out of that guy!
“...I didn’t get a harrumph outta dat guy!”
“I’ll now read from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and ... DUCK!!”
“You watch your ass.”
"Give these out to the boys in lieu of pay."
"This one is warped! Why do I always get a warped one?"
” I am particulary glad that these lovely children are here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed the courage little seen in this day and age.”
...or, “Whew, that was close! We doggone near lost a $400 handcar...”
Liberal Congressman Cohen references "Blazing Saddles"Really? Did he use this line?
"We have to protect our phony baloney jobs here, gentlemen!"If not he should have. As that's all Obama and the commieRATS are trying to do with the Debit limit. Pass the buck and push the blame to the GOP.
(who btw, have submitted TWO proposals to NONE by the rats and Barry!)
“Ah, let’s see... where was I?”
