A mob of unruly teens last night once again wreaked havoc on Center City, assaulting and robbing random pedestrians.
About 9:15 p.m., police began to receive 9-1-1 calls about a group of 20 to 40 teens assaulting people. Police found a man on the ground bleeding badly from the head at Walnut and Juniper streets. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Brian Mishico, who was working the door at Good Dog Bar and Restaurant on 15th Street near Locust, said a crowd of about 30 kids, some who looked as young as 12, split into two groups as they walked down 15th Street.

Those victims could have carried but evidently chose not to.
And there could have been 30 handguns drawn and fired at them.
Anyone thinking these yutes aren't going to be armed is crazy. Shooting one of them isn't going to "end this"...it will escalate it.
That doesn't mean we do nothing, but let's be realistic and understand the threat. This is Philly, not some town in Texas where the perps are evidently chicken and don't carry.
“Nothing will be done until one of the targeted victims kills one of them - then there will be pushes to keep racists from defending themselves.... “
Prescient comment.
Since they arrested 5, they should be able to find the phone messages or facebook connection - however they knew to gather, and should be able to haul in the other criminals involved.
Goes into effect on August 29, 2011.
Those gosh-darn teens! Must be Archie and Jughead again.
Yeah, I’ll go along with that. Sam was a good man to have for a friend also, preferably in the .45 cal.
.
Wait for flash home invasions,
Just talking about this as a future possibility this morning.
I’m happy I live in a small community in Texas. We probably would take out the trash in short order.
I’ve got a 110lb lab that sleeps in front of the door as an early warning system, if they shoot him first, we can eat dog for a couple of weeks. It is a win, win situation :>).
Too bad Al Sharpton is pretending to be a talk show host at MSNBC.
He could be starting a riot, err I mean rally to defend the "Philly Five" from charges of racism
I watched him for about 10 minutes last night on MSNBC to check it out.
Gee, whoever made that decision needs to be fired. It was painful to watch at best
“So shut up and go away.”
Strong words.
Strong post.
Kudos.
It’s only when the majority of Euro-Americans “lose their guilt” — which, obviously, you have done — that we will see things begin to clear up.
We are seeing where the blind belief — even amongst conservatives — in “egalitarianism” has led us.
Thomas Jefferson had a dream, and put the words on paper in 1776. But just putting words on paper does not turn dreams into reality. Sometimes they are but dreams, wishful thinking that must forever remain wishful. That’s called “reality”.
Thanks for seeing reality, and speaking about it plainly.
Just sayin’...
Good post!
Meanwhile, I'll be puttin' .45 LC and .357 center of mass with the ol' lady providing cover fire with her .38 and MS Mossberg.
Come now....boys will be boys / S
They yell “Stampede” when cattle run wild, what should we yell when the flash mob shows up???? “Freeze or die!!!!”
Great idea to put pressure on the City leaders to stop this mob violence. Another idea would be to contact the new Republican Governor of Pennsylvannia as well.
If enough folks from the Philly area do this, the Governor may well start formally talking with the Philly Mayor about this and bring in state law enforecement resources working independently of Philly police, to stop this violence, should the Mayor be unable or more likely unwilling to step up law enforcement efforts to stop this mob violence.
Even the mere threat of state intervention in a Philly issue like this may be enough to spur the Mayor to step up enforcement enough to slow down or stop this mob violence.
Mace.
And so it begins. Clockwork Orange, anyone?
Related articles from the link, haven’t read ‘em yet so I don’t know if they are separate incidents or just other articles with perhaps more detail, seems like the same incident:
I am sure that's the coordinated plan. And the next step is more gun control. This is the home version of "Fast and Furious".
Stick fighting is a good skill to learn - any walking stick or cane can be a weapon if a person knows how to do it, and you can maintain more distance between yourself and thugs than with a blade.
