Casey Anthony seeking $1.5 million for interview, but will networks bite?
Yahoo ^ | July 27, 2011 | Dylan Stableford

Casey Anthony walked out of a Florida jail and made a carefully orchestrated escape from the media mob that had followed her throughout her daughter's murder case.

Now Anthony wants the attention back. According to several rumors now floating around, including one from Nancy Grace, Anthony and her team of lawyers are seeking at least $1.5 million from television networks interesting in landing her first post-penitentiary interview.

Networks deny that there's any bidding war afoot for an Anthony interview--though as The Cutline has noted, it's not at all unusual for networks to sidestep charges of checkbook journalism by paying big licensing fees for permission to use photo or video footage from an interview subject, as ABC did in a six-figure deal for home movies from Jaycee Dugard, who had been held for 18 years as a sexual captive in California. This time out, however, ABC probably wouldn't be among Anthony's pursuers in the event of a media bidding war, since the network recently announced it was retiring the policy of padding licensing-rights deals for interviewees.

There’s going to be someone out there that will pay her that much or more. I hope they hold out so long for a “mega deal”, that offers will go away due to lack of interest.

You’ll be in the minority. She should ask $5 million.

Whatever the deal..it'll be a one-time wonder..she's got one shot...

I read somewheres that in order to get the big bucks, she'll have to agree to take an on-air polygraph....now THAT would get BIG ratings..

We listen to enough televised lying from our leaders. I won’t watch them either.

I hope some network wastes its money on her. I doubt the viewership will be very high.

I hope some network wastes its money on her.

And then a lightening strike kills her just before the payout.

I thought I saw a report that said her parents turned down an offer of $250,000 for an interview. Surprised they haven’t shown up doing an interview yet.

If ABC did the Dastardly Deed, my Disney World loving wife would never spend another of my hard earned dollars there again. She goes at least once a week 52 weeks a year.
I think they are going to name a street, in her honor soon. :^}

I agree. That includes FOX. If they pay thru the nose to land the deal I will stop watching them. Also, any sponsor will never get a thin dime from me.

How much is that per lie??

That she was convicted for? $375 thousand.

That she actually has told? A nickel per.

"I read somewheres that in order to get the big bucks, she'll have to agree to take an on-air polygraph...

FOX used to have a show that did that.

The contestants were usually cheating spouses or lovers who would get cash each time they answered a question correctly without lying.

Wish I could remember the name of the show?

I won’t watch or read any interview with that child-murderer.

I'm with you there. I hope there are enough Americans who feel that way to make any network who pays this witch big bucks for an interview lose market share big time.
