LITTLE ROCK -- The star defense witness in the capital murder trial of Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad said Friday that the defendant believes he is persecuted because he's Muslim and that his actions are more important than they really are -- all because he suffers from a delusional disorder.
"Saying you're an operative of a major terrorist organization is grandiose," said Dr. Shawn Agharkar, a psychiatrist who examined Muhammad three times in as many months this year. He added that nothing in the record indicates Muhammad is a member of such an organization.
"I do believe he knew right from wrong legally," Agharkar said. "But morally he felt it was righteous."
Muhammad, a native Memphian who is accused of killing Pvt. William A. Long and injuring Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula in a June 2009 attack at a military recruiting center in Little Rock, refused a fourth visit by the doctor.

Another delusional Muslim. The world has millions.
I believe this would be true for any muslim involved in jihad.
Muslims around the world try the insanity defense when they commit heinous crimes in the west, because there is no social stigma to “faking out the infidels” that way. What they don’t realize is that the US had a rash of mental illness fakes back in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, and so the insanity defense is very hard to pull anymore.
Worse, if you are found “guilty but insane”, or able to be put in a State hospital, you are as likely as not to be drugged into a coma for 23 hours a day, close to a living death. There are too many criminally insane, and not enough keepers for them, so it is easier for them to manage that way.
...and, it all began with one delusional Arab/Yemenese tribesman.
Can we agree that ALL murderers are delusional to some degree?
Accepting this defense, no one would be guilty of murder.
What’s the difference between a Muslim guided by delusion, and a Muslim guided by doctrine?
So what. Hang the crazy bastard.
The good doctor does not sound very convincing. It does not stretch credulity to believe that a Muslim who has committed murder is affiliated with a major terrorist group. Or to believe that said violent Muslim has sympathies with such groups, even if he does not "formally" belong to the group. To deny that such is possible is symptomatic of "head in the sand" syndrome, IMO.
And this is why, as a professional, I never want to be called in to give "expert" testimony in a case. I don't want to be in the position of having to make my expert observations fit the story of whichever lawyer is paying for me to testify, whether it's the defense or the prosecution.
I’d point out that Islam *is* a delusion, but that would be redundant.
Too bad we have another one in the White House.
A crazy Muslim? Who would have thunk that.
Centuries of inbreding have caught up with follows of this “religion”.
all we have to do is hug them more, right?????
The reason this mass murder happened is that his bosses (who were psychiatrists) made excuses for this POS. And now this is continuing to this very day. Sheeesh.

He believes his actions were morally okay aparently because he’s from Memphis. Lots of these types there. I don’t mean muslims. I mean killers.
"Shawn" is name he uses to seem more "American."
