The Democratic-controlled Senate on Friday narrowly voted to block a Republican measure that would force Congress to pass a stringent balanced budget amendment and cap spending before increasing the debt ceiling.
The legislation, a conservative priority, never had a chance of passing, but the strictly partisan 51-46 vote to table the Cut, Cap and Balance bill highlighted the partisan divide in Washington over how to tackle spending and raise the nations $14.3 trillion debt limit.

Shut it down.
If they won't do that... chain the doors shut and burn the place down around their ears as a lesson to future legislators.
No security is a must. But, the bill funding the operation of the White House should eliminate all kitchen staff, grounds staff and cleaning staff.
Let Barry cut the grass and take out his own trash and let Michelle cook, vacuum, dust, and make beds.
Why? The House gave them a fix, the Democrat controlled Senate rejected it.
The the situation cook. Republicans need do nothing but get the word out that two of their plans to fix the situation have been put on the table.
He won’t do it but that is exactly what Boehner should do. Just sit back and do nothing. Let Aug 2nd come and go. Then lets see what Barry and the Boys are willing to agree to.
*Sigh*
America came so close to being saved...
If passed, it still increases the debt limit.
I’m in the camp of “Not a penny more”.
The Pubbies must understand that POTUS Obama, the Devil incarnated, will cave at the end of the day. He could care less about the American debt, jobs, the economy, and...he has time and again proven that to be true!!! Why the cave? Re-election!!! On the other the hand the Democrat Senate will be the Republican Senate in 2012, after today’s vote. I guess them Democrat types did not learn a thing in November, 2010!!! Pubbies, hold the line. You can win this big time, and also more importantly, save our country for our children to come. Remember, take away the Democrat Candy, etc. and you destroy the Democrat Party overnight!!! Stand firm!!! Do not the the “traitor” Obama & his “hate America” Democrats an inch!!!
Cutting off MooseChelle’s vast roster of assistants would MEASURABLY increase the unemployment rate....

If he does that Barry will hold back Social Security checks and will blame Republicans with the help of the MSM.
They need to pass a bill to keep him from doing that.
They GOT their revenue when they decided to term the Obamacare mandate a tax.
Excellent point, Scott.
You are not alone... ;-)
“The cashier said “Uh, maam, this is not an EBT card. It is your state insurance card”. The woman got cross and demanded she take it, but the cashier patiently told her you can’t buy groceries with a health insurance (I guess Medicaid?) card.”
It’s all just money from “Obama’s Stash!”, what’s the big deal?
done. Now on to Casey...the remaining RAT sentator from Pa.
There defense is, a vote to continue debate is not a vote against anything, they will say there were some parts that needs fine tuning, same old crap different day.
The Democrats own it all now.
SUCK IT UP DIMS! HA!
Well written, insightful posts like yours are what make reading FR so intellectually satisfying for me. [Yes, I know I sound like a nerd.]
A similar story in Palm Desert, CA. this week. My neighbor watched a guy load his grocery cart full and then just wheel it out the door to his car. She alerted store personnel and their security nabbed the guy before he could get away. We’ve caught people going through our garbage cans looking for plastic bottles worth a nickel, or anything they can sell or maybe even eat.
Make sure you have good locks and lots of ammo. Drink safely my friends.
51 Demonrats oppose a balanced budget.
Hell with them then.
