The news and blogosphere is filled with responses to the July 14, 2011 story by Joshua Green, the Senior Editor of the Atlantic, entitled "Michele Bachmann's Church Says the Pope Is the Antichrist." That is because it raises a serious matter which should not be taken lightly, and one which the candidate must address. First, let me share some personal context. I am what is often called a "revert" to the Catholic Church, someone who returned to the Church of my childhood after a long search for the truth. I love being a Catholic Christian. I hold an undergraduate degree and a master's degree in Catholic theology. I am a dissertation away from obtaining a PhD in Catholic Moral Theology. I am also a member of the Clergy, a Deacon. However, I write this article as a private and very concerned citizen.

I FULLY agree with you there.
But you don’t the theology if you state that telling non-Latin Catholics that they are condemned. Nor does anyone who states that.
Give them the link I gave you. They need an education if they are saying otherwise. If they continue after that, they are ignorant and should be ignored. A Latin Catholic is not a Catholic if he/she is more Catholic than the Pope.
Why do you hate him?
1. He pretends to be some kind of Catholic enforcer, when he doesn't even adhere to Church teaching himself.
2. In general, he makes a mockery of my religion.
In practice, you will find very little difference between the Roman Catholic Church and the Wisconsin Evangelical Synod of the Lutheran Church. Orthodox Lutherans didn't think much of Pope Leo and he didn't think much of Martin Luther. If that disagreement is more significant to you than than problems such as the murder of unborn children (the WELS is vehemently pro-life) or the normalization of sodomy (the WELS is strongly pro-family) so be it.
It’s my religion, too. I have no problem with Donohue.
Mine are more representative of a trend, and are hardly all old, and the latest actually show less growth in RC numbers the US than mine from 2010: http://www.ncccusa.org/news/100204yearbook2010.html
But as substantiated, this does not support your assertion that this small RC growth is due to converts from Protestantism rather than Latin immigration, while historically evangelical churches have grown far more from converts from Catholicism seeking life, than the reverse.

Why on earth would you want to receive Communion in a Catholic Church if you do not believe in the Real Presence?
Surely you would not want to partake of our “Moon God”: (So called by FR Evangelicals.)
It is wrong and it is self-serving. Bachmann is a big phony.
Sarah Palin is The Real Thing.
It is asinine, but then that’s the Left. What else do we expect? BTW, you mixed Sarah Palin’s and Michele Bachmann’s names, “Sarah Bachmann”. What do you think if they teamed up to run together?
I was not aware that GW wouldn’t meet with the pope.
You got a deal. It isn’t hard to find ways Obama damns America. He does it everyday.

I know what you mean about cliches and euphemisms. Just remember that liberals are never pro-choice about anything unless it is their choice. They don’t even want us to have a choice of lightbulbs.
It is nice to hear positive comments from Catholics about the Reformation. Thanks for the insight.
Michele Bachmann is the Devil!!! /s
This sums it up nicely. I'll stick with what never fails, the Scriptures.
no no, george w. bush (a methodist) DID meet with the pope. don’t remember if it was at the vatican or in washington, though.
I love liberals' use of the expression 'bipartisan'. When they refer to something as bipartisan it means the other side caved.
Excellent.
Thanks for explaining that antichrist thing.
No one lives a sinless life after he is saved.
God deals with your sins in time with discipline (Heb.12)
First is positional sanctification, when one IS saved and put into union with Christ and receives His imputed righteousness.
At that moment one is saved and secure in Christ forever.
Next is progressive sanctification which is Christian growth, and has to do with growing in grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
That is the Christian walk.
Finally, there is ultimate sanctification, when one receives his resurrected body.
Now, if you are justified you are saved-period.
The simple question is, if you were to die tonight, where would you be.
The Christian says in heaven.
Eternal salvation is not a process.
Christian growth is a different issue and has nothing to do with salvation.
No one is 'becoming' eternally saved, either they are, or aren't. 1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
