An ABC News story tonight confirmed rumors that the Christian counseling clinic owned by Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and her husband Marcus Bachmann offered therapy to help "convert" homosexuals to heterosexuals. The "World News" report featured an interview with a former patient at the Bachmann & Associates clinic, Andrew Ramirez, who first visited the counseling center as a 17-year-old in 2004.
"[One counselor's] path for my therapy would be to read the Bible, pray to God that I would no longer be gay," Ramirez told ABC News. "And God would forgive me if I were straight."
Ramirez story, first reported by The Nation, is backed up by an undercover video at the clinic, which shows a counselor telling a gay man that he can be "totally free" of his homosexual feelings through prayer and hard work.
Mr. Bachmann has previously denied that his clinic offers "ex-gay" treatments, known as reparative therapy. The American Psychiatric Association does not condone the practice, and has said it might have potentially harmful mental health consequences.

RE: .... and the problem is?
You have to understand the Liberal way of thinking:
If your ideology is this — SEXUAL ORIENTATION IS THE SAME AS SKIN COLOR, then you’ll have a problem with it.
If Being Black or Brown does not require therapy, why does being gay require it?
The unfortunate thing is we live in world fed on counterintuitive myths. A simple analysis of gay age demographics shows that most individuals who at one point experiment or believe they are gay eventually leave the gay lifestyle. That alone proves it isnt immutable but instead we are expected to accept the word of a very liberal Association as if it is fact no questions asked. I personally don’t care how one lives their personal life but I will not play pretend with the media as they parrot stupidity.
They caught her being a Christian? I bet they have enough evidence to convict.
The cycle has become obvious - just like that simp on MTP on Sunday asking T-Paw "where do you differ with the Republican Party?". I have never heard that question get asked of a RAT.
Actually I like her better now but at least she is not muslim lke dick obama
Good point. I also believe that the guilt of an inquisitive dalliance keeps people in that lifestyle as well. People in that situation are not genuinely happy. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the suicide rate among male homosexuals is higher that that of heterosexuals.
If they were not honest about the type therapy, then they committed Medicare fraud.
“Dick Obama should sign up!”
Should we abbreviate the initials as R.O. or D.O,? Either way I like the new first name.
The sad thing is that there are people out there who have same sex attraction thoughts and DO NOT want to be like that, yet society and the psychiatric establishment tell them to just embrace it.
Nobody is forcing anyone into this kind of therapy.
Why, then, should anybody have a problem with Bachmann's clinic offering this Christian alternative -- to those who want to try it?
Obvious answer: No one should have a problem with it.
But the pc psychiatric establishment does, because they want a monopoly on "treatment" of all "gender dysphoria" (i.e., you should just accept it that you are homosexual, and take pride in it!).
And the MSM does too, because anything that is Christian must, of course, be wrong.
You are correct.
That happened in 1974, with the printing of the Diagnostics and Statistics Manual (DSM) II, where homosexuality was removed because of pressure from it was replaced with "sexual orientation disturbance"; and would later morph into a treatment strategy that includes getting homosexuals to feel better about themselves.
Stop the Ghate!!!!!!!!
Yet if Dr. Bachmann had been in the business of mutilating his patients’ bodies to resemble the opposite gender, ABC would see nothing questionable whatsoever.
Perhaps the queers would prefer the Islamic method of dealing with them.
Same bull, different hay.
LOL. So now it's a conspiracy by the MSM to support Palin?
So BIG FREAKING DEAL!
Bachmann gives the media lots of low hanging fruit. Helping Palin is the result of the Law of Unintended Consequences.
People spend a lot of time and money trying to make their skin darker.
