Bill - S. 1323:
"Mr. REID introduced the following bill; which was read twice and ordered to be placed on the calendar"
"Sense of the Senate- It is the sense of the Senate that any agreement to reduce the budget deficit should require
that those earning $1,000,000 or more per year make a more meaningful contribution to the deficit reduction effort."
The Final Vote was 69-27 in favor.
17 "Republicans" joined Reid in support of his Class War ideology propaganda game (a vote which carries not weight).
24 Republicans wanted no part of this (along with 1 Dem)
So who are these Republicans that sided with Reid on his pet 'declaration' called "Sense of the Senate Vote"???...

Here's what Jim Demint had to say about this REID's "Sense of the Senate" voting shenanigans:
-"Sen. Reid's "Sense of the Senate" resolution (S. 1323),
currently on the Senate floor, contains no actual policy.
It notes several class-warfare non-sequiturs, and then calls
on Americans making more than $1 million per year "to make
a more meaningful contribution to the deficit reduction effort."
-Jim DeMint
Agreed!
How disappointing. If he's voting for this, then there's no difference between him and a democrat. There's nothing to lose if he loses. So while I won't vote for a democrat, liberal, socialist, communist, or fascist (apologies for the repetition), I won't vote for Cornyn either. I'll sit out the general election for senate if Cornyn's the GOP nominee.
I just sent him and e-mail asking for an explanation.
Maybe Session’s definition of a “more meaningful contribution” is that the million + folks contribute more to unseat the spendoholics/dems. Just hoping for some reasonable explanation.
Of all the Nays, Session's vote is the most perplexing. I definitely want to hear his reason(s) for voting Nay. Regardless, ALL who voted Nay should be flushed. They are enemies of our Constitution.
He says one thing and does another...plays Mr. Conservative but is far from it.
Cornyn set a record becoming Washington elite.
JW, am curious to know what kind of response you get back.
Curious to know what kind of response you get.
You mean "AYE" ("yes") of course.
I’ll post it back here when I get it.
As it is, they want to make some sort of statement, but they don't want to actually create a record of where they are voting to raise taxes.
Opps, AYE is correct! Thanks.
I thought he wasn’t up again until 2016-—”
Do believe it’s 2014 for Cornyn, Hutchinson has resigned so we will have at least one new one in 2012. Understand Mike Williams is probably going to run for one of the new House seats and not for the Senate. Maybe Cruz to replace Hutchinson? If we do have someone run against Cornyn they are going to need deep pockets as he is already soliciting money for his 2014 run.
That is all he does...when he isn't writing fund raising letters for Arlen Specter! Three weeks later, Specter changed parties!
We're better off with Cornyn raising $$$ than voting!!!!
BTW, I was his county re-elect chair in my small county...before I quit! I don't remember what he did but I do remember calling my contact and saying, "I quit! This is exactly what is driving people crazy and he doesn't seem to care what we think! Only what people in D.C. think."
They didn't miss me but I felt better. LOL!
So where was “Dick” Lugar? Hiding in his office?
If you get an answer would you please post it?
Nothing yet.
