From containerized cargos they can’t rob to Voter Id they can’t cheat Dems always fight honesty

The fight to force honesty into the voting process has a familiar ring. Students of American history have seen its likes in the analogous battle to stop cargo thefts from America’s docks.

Across the country the tsunami that flipped so many state legislatures is beginning to prove how profound our side’s version of “change” is and will be.

Among the top priorities of the new Republican majorities in state Senates and Assemblies has been fixing the problem of Democrat voter fraud.

The most obvious and easily accomplished remedy to cure this social cancer is a photo identification card for anyone wishing to vote. We need a photo ID to get on a plane;to cash a check and even to use our local gym. Why then should those without photo ID be allowed to vote?

The answer of course is there are no genuine reasons only those fake “reasons” generated by Democrats who would sell out America’s sacred voting process to stay in power.

All so familiar

Those interested in honesty have seen this fight played out in the battles to curb thefts from shipments passing through our seaports. In the 19th and 20th centuries as international commerce increased, the rate of theft from cargos handled by longshoremen grew as well.

These workers imagined that since they were handling valuable commodities some of each shipment belonged to them personally. My own grandfather regularly stole sugar from cargos he unloaded on the Brooklyn waterfront when it was scarce during World War I.

As unions took over the docks the theft became absolutely institutionalized to a point that drove companies to find ways to defeat these “inventory shrinkages.” The answer was containerization.

So commonplace were these thefts before containerization that once they became inevitable and the unions knew…

RE: “inventory shrinkages.”

In my experience, blue collar workers, including the self-employed, in densely urban settings are often dishonest, and are sometimes outright thieves.

. . . the rate of theft from cargos handled by longshoremen grew as well.

Yep, another solid Democrat constituency. Who would've thunk it?

My Daddy was in the navy after World War II on an armed supply ship which has seen action at Iwo Jima and elsewhere.

They were a hardened lot, but not without human feeling. One of their jobs during the occupation was to ferry and unload supplies to a population which was on the verge of starvation.

Even then, they had pride and thefts were rare. Dad was a junior officer and one of the guys under his command had a reputation as a joker. He caught an old man stealing a sack of flour at the dock once from one of the pallets which had just unloaded. He drew his pistol and pointed it at the guys head. The old man dropped the flour sack, knelt down and closed his eyes muttering something that sounded like a prayer.

Dad and the guy were so moved with compassion, that they handed the old man some of their personal rations and sent him on his way.

He told the joker that these people had a sense of shame, not of entitlement. We could learn something from them.

And the containerization created a whole new problem, the likelihood of a Muslim nuke eventually taking out one of our seaports.

Employees steal 7 times more than shoplifters:

Retailers looking to cut their theft losses would do well to leave the customers alone and keep a wary eye on their own employees, according to a new survey.

Employee theft accounts for seven times more revenue loss for retailers than shoplifting, said the annual loss-prevention survey by Ernst & Young, released Friday. The survey, “An Ounce of Prevention,” showed retailers reported $2.2 billion in 1989 theft losses, an average of $21 million for the 160 companies responding and an increase of 10 percent compared to 1988.

Perhaps every ballot box needs to be “containerized” with 2 or 3 locks on the outside of each to help offset the democrat ‘tampering’ that they’re so famous for. One lock for the dems, one lock for the republicans, and one lock placed by the county officials. Also, a gps tracker with a history function should be secured inside each and every ballot box.
