Police in Grand Rapids say that seven people were shot and killed at two locations on Thursday and they are actively searching for suspect Rodrick Shonte Dantzler.
Police say three people, reportedly two women and a 10-year-old girl, are dead at one scene, and four others were killed at a separate scene about two miles away, reports CBS affiliate WWMT.
According to a local station, another man was shot in what police believe is a related incident, but was not killed.
The shootings stemmed from a domestic issue, reports The Grand Rapids Press.
Police say they are searching for the 34-year-old Dantzler. Dantzler is described as a black male, about 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighing 265 pounds with a large, muscular build, dreadlocks, and tattoos all over his body.
Dantzler is believed to be driving a cream Lincoln Towncar, Michigan plate BWK-2308.
Dantzler has a criminal record. He pleaded guilty in 2010 to assault and battery and served about a year. In 2000 he entered a guilty plea to assault with bodily harm less than murder and was sentenced to three to ten years.
In 1997 he was given a year of probation for malicious destruction of property, and in 1992 he was charged as a juvenile for breaking and entering.
Police say Dantzler is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees Dantzler is asked to call 911 or their local police department.

As of 7:49 the suspect had made cell phone contact with the cops for a second time.
One story said that Dentzler was "unhappy with the pursuit."

bipolar has come to mean any severe mental disorder, much like ADHD to explain any kid you cannot control, or autism for anyone who is a little quirky.
I think it is used when an individual is able to behave relatively normally most of the time and then go into a killing rage after some sort of "stressor." Like being told by his ex-wife to leave her alone.

Eek. One set of victims in 2000 block of Plainfield (other victims on Grandville Ave.) I have friends who live much too close to there.

A relative of Dantzler said he was recently released from prison and very distraught.
A Michigan State Police helicopter is now involved and is focusing their search along the I-96 corridor. Authorities believe he may be headed toward Detroit, where he has some connections.
They believe of the seven dead, five are women, one a man and one a child.
A civilian bystander was hit by gunfire as the police chased the suspect, at high speed, through downtown Grand Rapids.

I’m betting there are few police and police cars in West Michigan not involved somewhere related to this. They are showing shots of 131 backed up. Reports are he was going down several highways shooting at the police. Ran off the road and took off on foot to where he is barricaded at now.
Pretty impressive rap sheet for Rodrick Shonte.
Let’s hope that this will be the end of the line for him. (Unless, of course, Holder’s Dept. of Injustice steps in.)
