Rogue 4 July tweets on TV news channel's politics service go viral but Fox News is apparently back in control
Fox News has apparently fallen victim to hacking, with its politics Twitter feed repeatedly announcing President Barack Obama had been shot dead.
@foxnewspolitics began tweeting the information to its 33,000 followers at about 2am local time, with the posts rapidly being shared around the internet.
The rogue tweets appeared to begin after the account sent a message saying Fox had just "regained full access to our Twitter account".
The following tweets all related to the supposed death of Obama, with some posts being very specific about the president's injuries.
"@BarackObama has just passed. The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. President Barack Obama is dead," came the first tweet. The string of messages continued:
"@BarackObama has just passed. Nearly 45 minutes ago, he was shot twice in the lower pelvic area and in the neck; shooter unknown. Bled out", and then: "@BarackObama shot twice at a Ross' restaurant in Iowa while campaigning. RIP Obama, best regards to the Obama family."
Whatever the hoaxer's identity, they do not appear to have been entirely web-savvy. The first three posts revealing the president's death were directed to the @BarackObama Twitter feed, meaning only those following both accounts would have seen the messages.

I’ve heard rumors of attempts on former Pres. Bush. Rumors were squashed because of the poisonous political climate, and the instability of certain sectors of the voting public, I think.
That could very well be. leftists do network.
LLS
Apparently not enough yet. Why did they pick Fox? Why not the obvious leftist media, CBS, ABC, MSNBC... Do they not they have Twitter feeds also?
That's very true. They definitely did this to plant the idea "conservatives are violent and want to kill Bambi." If they can't find any evidence of this or stir up such a sentiment, they still try to plant the idea.
Are the project’s on fire yet?
That is horrible. I mean, Joe Biden as POTUS????? Does he even have the brains to wipe himself?
Even DailyMail has the story but they turned off the comments. lol
Fear not, the Aluminati schemes have been FOILED...ahhahahaha!
bump
Nope, pretty quiet today!
We live in a republic, and we are conservatives, not anarchists or revolutionaries. We change our officials by elections, not assassinations. We need to focus on removing President Obama — and yes, he **IS** the president and deserves the respect of the office — by legitimate electoral means.
To even suggest some other means of removing President Obama is to violate our own core principles.
In before Fred Savage’s twin, Rachel Maddow, says “Well we all know Fox wishes it would’ve been true....” And all 19 of MSNBC’s viewers will nod their pedophile heads in agreement.
PINGULA
We currently enjoy redundancy on the Internet. There are many sources and channels, so factual information can eventually be found and disseminated.
Unfortunately, publicity stunts tend to get “stuck” in the mind (cognitive dissonance), and thus lies tend to linger.
What scares me is what happens when the plethora of feeds gets censored or get overwhelmed by the attention-seekers.
Thank God for FR, so we can still have access to level-headed analysis and truth-seeking.
Want to bet Media Matters is behind it?
After I stopped laughing, I read your KEEP IT CLASSY FOLKS and decided to just end my comments here.
Very odd they are still up there.
Oh give me a break. Tell me what part of sentence in that entire thing could be considered a threat. It’s a freaking joke. Probably a kid just wanting to see what reaction it would get. Much ado about nothing. I thinks it’s funny how some have their panties in a bunch over a prank on Fox.
