President Obama refused to endorse same-sex marriage this week but left no doubt about what he truly believes.
At Wednesday presss conference, he ticked off his efforts on behalf of gay rights: expanding the federal hate-crimes law; repealing the dont-ask-dont-tell restriction on openly gay soldiers; refusing to enforce the federal law denying recognition of same-sex marriages. He went on to praise the recent vote legalizing gay marriage in New York: What youre seeing is a profound recognition on the part of the American people that gays and lesbians and transgender persons are our brothers, our sisters, our children, our cousins, our friends, our coworkers, and that theyve got to be treated like every other American. Pressed about his personal views on gay marriage, Obama said coyly, Im not going to make news on that today.
Another day, then. Obama hinted his conversion was underway in December, when he described his views on gay marriage as constantly evolving. (Frankly, the jig was up last week when Obama quoted Lady Gagas anthem Born This Way while headlining a New York fundraiser attended by hundreds of gay-rights activists.)
In politics, its all about waiting for the right moment, the right landing. Had Obama said the magic words at the New York event or at the press conference, which preceded a White House reception for Gay Pride Month, his endorsement would have looked like pander.
Facing a challenging reelection battle that will hinge on his stewardship of the economy, Obama cant afford to look like hes taking his eye off the ball.

He would not naturally share black America's values even in this area. His gay marriage position has always been a political yarn. Evolving? Please. It's a theatrical performance. He's slow boiling the frog (America) on this issue.
I want to be clear since I can see it being misread... I’m not saying Cain, Rice or Jackson would fit in at Wrights’ church or that it’s mainstream. I’m saying Obama chose to go the fringe for his education in “Black America.”
I think that Obama is that most dangerous of political creatures: He supports political expedience as a way to gain power.
No core beliefs, at all. Period. Whatever he has to say to gain power is what he believes in. If the situation changes, the beliefs change. Dangerous to support because they will sell you out for the slightest gain.
Mitt Romney is cut from the exact same cloth and if you want to see what a Romney administration would look like, look at Obama.
...and from July 1, 2011, “Obama’s Obsession with Sexual Orientation” which says, “A few weeks ago, Malawis Ambassador to the United Nations said privately that the Obama administration had threatened to withhold $350 million in aid unless Malawis government struck down its laws on sodomy.” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2742820/posts
It is interesting seeing Obama in a vise like this. His leftist supporters are all gung ho about gay marriage, but the average black American is definitely NOT. I’ve said this before, but they oppose gay marriage not just for the religious reasons, (I bet 90% of black clergy, even “liberal” ones oppose it) but they REALLY don’t like the whole notion of it being called a “civil rights” issue. Like it or not, this is the Black community’s “Holy Grail” after slavery abolition. Having a bunch of white liberals trying to make gay sex equal to what they hold very dear is insulting on a level we just can’t comprehend. I’ve read liberal black’s commentaries about how the average Joe African-American SHOULD be feeling about this issue, but it isn’t working. In the end, Obama will still get the black vote, overwhelmingly, but it will be not nearly as enthusiastic. The repubs, if they are smart could use this, not as a wedge or fear issue, but a chance to show where we share the same values as Black-Americans.
And now the admin is pushing the gay agenda in Africa, and the African countries don’t want any part of it.
Birds of a feather...
Did you take notice of post #22? :-)

Wrong again a-hole what we are seeing is legislators passing laws that we citizens don’t want, and then we have to go to referendum to get rid of them
Hopefully we will get rid of those politicians at the ballot box next time around.
Good post, nevertheless. Great minds think alike. :-)
Please help us out by refraining from posting lurid photos demonstrating someone in the act of beastiality.
Thank you.
Let’s also beware of mean-spirited homosexual groups accusing heterosexual politicians, or their spouses, of being gay. They are doing this because they know heterosexuals would be embarrassed if anyone thought they were gay.
Being a pervert is all part of being evil.
He probably tortures kittens too.
