Defacing the White House, America
Townhall.com ^ | July 3, 2011 | Mark Baisley

Several months after the Bill Clinton staff moved out of the West Wing in 2001, George W. Bush’s press secretary Ari Fleischer confirmed to the Washington Post that the outgoing liberals had trashed the place.

The letter “W” had been removed from the keyboards, historic artifacts had been stolen, 20% of the furniture was overturned, walls were painted with obscene graffiti and office equipment was sabotaged.  In addition to insulting messages left for the incoming President on walls, cabinets, toilets and voicemails, there are stories that the carpeting was soiled by something more than just your normal wear and tear.

The customarily dignified transfer of power between political parties was sullied by the personnel whose attitude reflected the irreverence shown by their boss.

The next transfer of power, hopefully nineteen months from now, promises to be worse than the frat house antics of the Clinton team.  By that time, the incoming staffers will all own iPhone7’s so we will have photos.

While I don’t predict the damage to be one of vandalism, I am concerned about what President Obama’s administration will have done to reflect his vow of “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”

Within his first few days in the White House, Barack Obama’s staff was given a loud hint about the direction of his leadership when he directed them to remove the bust of Winston Churchill and return it to Great Britain.

Aside from unhinging historical international ties, the current administration has shown itself to be an eloquent marionette, with a string attached to the most powerful commander of every unholy alliance.

On Thursday evening, I attended a screening of a new movie, The Undefeated, about the very public life of Sarah Palin.  I could not tell by the end of the film whether it was a documentary or the launch of a unique presidential campaign.

The film is destined to win zero cinematic awards.  But it carried a powerful, underlying message -- that Sarah Palin is driven by a solitary allegiance, unburdened by loyalties to any special interests.

Only Governor Palin and her hairdresser know whether she will run for President.

But I crave that singularity of purpose in the Republican nominee.

Experience is important.  Communication skills are essential.  Competence is paramount.

And, the champion whom we select to replace Barack Obama will have an enormous cleanup task.

Our new president will need to approach the detail with all the concern that an exterminator holds for a cockroach.  Foreign aid, welfare for illegal immigrants, and every redundant bureaucracy among the 400+ federal government agencies will have to take a back seat to paying down the national debt.

I suspect that the transition team will need to disassemble the following dedicated networks that certainly must be installed in the West Wing of the Obama White House:
And if I were the Brits, I’d be checking that Winston Churchill statue for bugs too.

It is time for the presidency to return to the people. A rented loft in Rockville would be a sufficient residence for our next president. Pray that we elect someone with enough humility to understand the rich and genuinely American symbolism of such a residence.

And, of course, a padded cell for the current occupant.

Eight long years of Clinton white trash, let’s hope for only four years of the black trash.

Before dismantling the connections to the various organizations,a list should be made of the leaders and deputies. Then one month later a roundup of all should be undertaken and all should be detained on any of a hundred charges. Assets should be frozen.

Given the severity of the crimes and risk of flight, no bail.

Some will sing to save their butts.

This is not America you say? They are not Americans I say. The detainees are forevermore examples of disgusting traitorous humanity to be remembered for their crimes forever

I like the White House. Because the Marxist in chief is in office, we tend to want to get rid of these things. However they are the symbol of our leadership and regardless who the president is, rank doth has it’s priviledges.

Now governors mansions and mayors mansions I would turn into catering halls.

If we really want to do something about the current presidents quarters, I would suggest converting a meeting room at Congressional to living quarters since he seems to spend most of his time there anyway.

I'd be happy if this admin were in tents right now. Tents in Arizona, wearing pink undies, and eating bologna sandwiches under the direction of Sheriff Joe.

The Blight House cannot be defaced more than it is right now.

It will take a thorough sanitizing, fumgating, and cleaning to get it anywhere near what it was in saner days.

I sometimes like to imagine Palin's first action as President would be to sign an Executive Order allowing targeted assassinations, and to send a Hellfire missile up George Soros's ass.

Make sure the shot takes out his sons, too, from what I hear. Attagirl!

Cheers!

Didn’t the BO family have a very nice house in Chicago that they lived in and were raising their family in? How come in two and a half years they have never returned? Not even for a night?

Here is the GAO report to congress on damage to the White House and EEOB during the 2001 transition. The only "historic" items reported missing were 10 or 11 doorknobs and possibly a 12 inch diameter presidential seal from the 1970s. The overturned furniture comprised only 14-19 pieces rather than 20% of the total. The new administration ordered 62 keyboards, although it's not clear it all of these were because of missing 'W' keys.

A gazillion debates, arguments, and interpretations on the religion forum, yet...

Our hallowed White House has been usurped, profaned, and defiled along with our beloved Constitution and honored traditions, and few are connecting the dots. Got to look at the posts on the secular political threads to see the truth posted by weary and vexated citizens who crave truth and the Land of Liberty with all of their hearts, minds, and souls.
