She can afford to ship her car and dogs FROM HAWAII TO THE US, and live in a hotel in Charlotte and she needs government help. WOW.

Love this remark in the article

....In the recession-era economy, the voucher is becoming a golden ticket to almost anywhere, a point hardly lost on Liza Jackson, whose cellphone was now ringing Lil Wayne.

“Yes?” she said, answering in the prim manner she described as her “white voice.” “I had called about the four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath? Yes. Liza. Like Minnelli.”

Her cell phone has a ringtone for the rapper Little Wayne????

I can see why some might think there goes the neighborhood. Nothing personal against her, but she has some characteristics of people who are “ghetto”.

What does my government do for me? Ever? Does it protect the borders and keep out an army of invading Mexicans? No. Does it protect me from crime? No. I get nothing of value from my government. And why? Because I am hard-working and productive. That's my mistake. That's why I get screwed.

The parasites have it figured out. The less value you offer, the more goodies the government will give to you.

And how long can that game last?

I wonder how many of these idiots who push the D-Button every election realize how Section 8 was created and who created it. It's a Democratic Program designed to destroy middle class neighborhoods. Some people who object to section 8 and believe it to be outrageous are still voting for the party that created Section 8.

Most people still cannot associate cause with effect.

Section 8 housing ought to be eliminated entirely. It's done nothing but destroy good neighborhoods.

“It’s guaranteed money,” said David Benham, who owns several rental properties and is a founder of the Benham REO Group, which sells bank foreclosures to investors in 35 states. “It has a great accountability program with the renters. I love Section 8.

Spending problem within the U.S. government?

Blasphemy!! /s

Her “vouchre” is $1032 per MONTH!

JUST THE VOUCHER.

Then unemployment, food stamps, welfare for the little no-daddy baby, - then subsidized healthcare, - who knows what else?

OOOPs - almost forgot - at tax time - child credits and kickbacks - another few $thousand that tax PAYERS are limited on.

Disgusting.

Cool! I have a “white voice”. Can I get a magic ticket and free cell phone?

In the 90s, HUD sued my community to force us to accept “scatter site” housing. Under duress, 23 single family homes were purchased and designated section 8 housing. we were called racists for objecting.

As we predicted, the houses are now abandoned eyesores, having been trashed by the welfare tenants.

Many new apartment projects use HUD financing (which is a slightly lower rate). In return the owners agree to occupy a percentage of the units with section 8 (I think its 5%).

Around 7 years ago, a complex was built near where I work...in order to fill it up, they took on 20% section 8 tenants.

Every day, as I come and go, I either see shirtless fellas hanging out in the stairwells, with ‘combat bottles’ of beer...or a police car parked at the office.

Shockingly, the owners recently went bankrupt, and a bank now owns the mess.

I knew the government would become the largest landlord in the country.

Sadly, many people are starting to say “If you can’t beat them, join them”. But it won’t be long before there’s not enough to go around.

Does this article ever say how she makes a living? Is she going to be a banker in Charlotte? Does she have a job yet?

I love Section 8. I wish every one of my properties was Section 8.”

Any bets that Mr. David Benham probably calls himself a conservative Republican too? The hypocrisy by some who call themselves conservative goes beyond the pale when they are milking the public dole themselves. They are socialists just as bad as the recipients getting their check.

The house across the street is available for rent again. The last neighbor was okay. Before that a parole officer. Before that gang bangers. Baby mama gang banger let her barely-walking baby run loose at 2:00 in the morning while she’s doin’ it with her latest dog in the front seat of his Caddy. When it looked like they were moving out, I called the rental company to verify it. I said, “Just tell me they’re leaving. Lie to me.” It turns out they were jumping rent. I broke out in hives. Every time I would call the police I’d let a lecture about their rights. We don’t have rights. We’re white.

I need a house. How do I get one of these vouchers? Do you get a Water Buffalo and rice paddie as well? I know it’s not saying much, but Water Buffalo are a lot smarter than the people running this country these days.

Living in a nicer neighborhood is something people EARN. For the government to dump less than responsible people in an area where residents have worked to have a nice, safe place to live is beyond outrageous.

How much longer are taxpayers in North Dakota or Texas going to pay for stuff like this? I defy anyone to explain to me how this program makes any sense.

Jackson realized that her own good fortune was partly due to such misery, but mostly, she and Sheena were thinking about a huge walk-in closet they’d seen.

“You know how many shoes you can put in there?” Sheena said. “I’m trippin’.”

Don't have a walk-in closet or enough shoes to fill one, but then again, I have taxes to pay.

This is why the grassroots rebellion has to start at the municipal and county level.

How to get good candidates to run at this level? I don’t know.

JUST CURIOUS - How do people with jobs & ‘children’ of working age qualify for Section 8 housing, or any subsidies?
